Amazon sent an eMail today confirming shipment of Babylon 5 : The Lost Tales.

I guess Amazon is shipping for delivery on July 31st. July 31st was the indicated release date. So those who ordered from Amazon will have theirs on the way. Those with overnight delivery will get it on the first possible day.

Assuming you are home to receive it.

Ever wanted a weird space age cannon? Why not a Babylon 5 T-Shirt rifle? "Wired" magazine has a story called, "Jessica Alba Goes to Comic Con." that details the use of the weapon. Note Alba in a bikini is optional.

The best part of the story goes as follows:

"But this is how I imagine the scene. It's very much like that USO show in Apocalypse Now, when the Playboy bunnies show up. Imagine: 50,000 ... nerds, many of them in costumes ... a Chinook helicopter can be seen closing the gap from the northwest. ... The crowd erupts into boos, throwing their red vines and Hugo-sized diet cokes at the stage. Guards equipped with t-shirt-launching guns swarm out of the Chinook and ring the stage, randomly firing extra-large Babylon 5 licensed merchandise t-shirts ... at the fools attempting to climb the bulwarks. ... and out steps Jessica Alba, in a bikini."

EW.com does not consider "Babylon 5" worthy as one of the top science fiction 25 shows of all time.  In fact it apparently ranks behind the cartoon series "Star Wars the Clone Wars." Really?

Tracy Scoggins made a few comments on the new B5 epic at the SciFi Summit :

" ... Scoggins then told us that a new BABYLON 5 project that would be released in July titled BABYLON 5 THE LOST TALES : VOICES IN THE DARK and this will be a straight to video. She described it as a mixture of BABYLON 5 with the X-FILES and THE TWILIGHT ZONE thrown in. She also said that most the DVD was filmed in front of the blue screen because they couldn't re-create the sets. She said that her one request when asked to come back in her role as Elizabeth Lochley was that her character get a promotion and she got it. She was promoted from Captain to a Colonel. This DVD will have only part of the original cast and because of the passing of certain cast members there will be a story line to explain what happened to them. ... "
