Ivanova calls for Major Atumbe to take over when she leaves C&C. Atumbe was the off-shift commander, rarely mentioned but never seen. Straczynski occasionally considered introduced the character on-screen, but gave it up as he felt it felt forced to bring in yet another recurring character. (edit) The original promo for "Eyes" shown at the end of "Grail" put together by the network was unrecognizable to show creater, J. Michael Straczynski. He said, "I have no idea what it has to do with the episode. Sometimes they "enhance" the story to make it promote-able... but I think this time they "enhanced" it right into a parallel dimension..." (edit) Accordin to J. Michael Straczynski, "ben-Zayn" is to be understood as a Middle Eastern or Arabic name. (edit) The motorcycle in the episode was a Kawasaki "Ninja" the choice was suggested by Jerry Doyle who is a motorcycle enthusiast. Kawasaki loaned the bike, but paid no promotional fee. (edit) Macauley Bruton who plays one of the masked men in Ivanova's dream returns in the episodes "Mind War," "Chrysalis, " and "And the Sky Full of Stars" as Garibaldi's aide. (edit)

When Lennier is chanting over the motorcyle, he mediates, and says "Zabagabee." This is the title of the Greatest Hits album for Bill Mumy's band, the Jenerators. He got in some trouble with Straczynski for mentioning the record, was told not to plug more albums. (edit)
