Ivanova calls for Major Atumbe to take over when she leaves C&C. Atumbe was the off-shift commander, rarely mentioned but never seen. Straczynski occasionally considered introduced the character on-screen, but gave it up as he felt it felt forced to bring in yet another recurring character.
