Sheridan: (proposing to Delenn) I, um... I wanted you to have this. I got it down in the Zocalo. It's not exactly what I had in mind, but, um... It's temporary until I can get you a real engagement ring. Um, it's an Earth custom. See, you give someone you love an engagement ring as kind of down payment for another ring. The kind you exchange when you get married. I don't know when we will be able to get around to that part of it. We may not survive the next two weeks, but I wanted you to have this and to know that whatever time I have left, I want to spend it with you.
(edit)
Cartagia: No, I don't care at all for the way he looks. Pluck out his eye.
Guard: Which one?
Cartagia: I don't know. Doesn't matter... That one. (edit) Cartagia: I was just thinking. I don't like the way he's looking at me. I'm trying to decide what to do about it. Would you care to make a suggestion?
Londo: Oh, no, I'm sure whatever your Majesty decides will be appropriate. I shall go and pack. (edit) Lorien: He was gravely wounded at Z'ha'dum. He was dying. He was dead. I did all I could to help him, but I can not create life, only the universe can do that. I can extend, enhance, there is no magic, nothing spiritual about it, only the application of energies, healing and rebuilding cells. (edit) Delenn: It's Kosh. Kosh was inside him.
Lorien : Yes. The last of Kosh, and some of him, and some of me. (edit)

The episode title "Falling towards Apotheosis" refers mainly to Cartagias wish to become a living god..
(edit) As noted in "Hour of the Wolf", aspects of Cartagia's character are modelled on the insane Roman emperor Caligula. A reference is made to this when he shows the severed heads to Londo and explains that one minister had a persistent annoying cough that he "cured" by decapitating him. The Emperor Caligula was also annoyed by his co-heir Gamellus's peristent cough and "cured" him the same way. (edit)
