Several B5 production crew have played roles in Babylon 5. In "Grail," the Director of Photography, John C. Flinn III, plays "Mr. Finn." He will later appear in the episode "Convictions" as the "Obnoxious Man."
(edit)
The epsiode contains the first totally CGI alien, the Na'ka'leen feeder.
(edit)
Writer Christy Marx named the character Aldous Gajic after Mira Furlan's husband whose last name is Gajic. Mira Furlan plays the Minbari Ambasador Delenn.
(edit)
The writer of this episode is Christy Marx who also is best known for authoring several games and comics.
(edit)
Originally, Vorlon Ambassador Kosh was to deal with the Na'ka'leen feeder. The scene was changed because it did not seem to fit the Kosh character and was similar to the ending of the episode "Deathwalker".
(edit)
Sinclair: You need to find another witness.
Garibaldi: When the word gets out about Miriam, I've got as much chance of doing that as seeing a Vorlon doing strip-tease. (edit) Garibaldi: You think he's genuine.
Sinclair: Aldous? Yes. Question is: a genuine what? One man's lunatic is another's true seeker.
Garibaldi: You have been hanging around Delenn too much. (edit) Londo: Vir! What are you doing?
Vir: Why, I'm being efficient, sir.
Londo: A few more like you, Vir, and the entire Centauri Republic will efficient itself to extinction. (edit) Londo: Fools to the left of me, feeders to the right. I need to find a real job. (edit) Sinclair: Deuce wanted the people to think that he had the Vorlons working for him. Figured it would add to his image and intimidate people.
Kosh: Why?
Sinclair: Well, after all, no one knows exactly what you look like. That makes some people...a little nervous.
Kosh: Good. (edit)

Continuity: When Aldous Gajic meets with Delenn and Lennier, Lennier says that there are two castes of Minbari, religious and warrior. This is in deep conflict with the rest of the series, in which it is often established that there are three castes, not two.
(edit)
Londo: Fools to the left of me, Feeders to the right.
This is a play on the third stanza of the poem Charge Of The Light Brigade, by Alfred Lord Tennyson:
"Cannon to the right of them,
Cannon to the left of them,
Cannon in front of them
Volley'd and thunder'd."
OR it could be an allusion to the 70's song, "Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right." (edit) The Doppler Effect, named after Christian Andreas Doppler, is the apparent change in frequency or wavelength of a wave that is perceived by an observer moving relative to the source of the waves. A sound wave's pitch sounds higher as the sound source approaches and lower as the sound source recededes from the observer. (edit) Ship Name: Marie Celeste
At the end of the episode Jinxo who survived the loss of the four earlier Babylon station boards a transport named Marie Celeste. This is a reference to a sailing ship found adrift in 1872 by the crew of the ship Dei Gratia. The crew of the Marie Celeste and a single lifeboat were missing, but half-eaten meals were in the mess hall. Captain Morehouse of the Dei Gratia had dined with Captain Briggs of the Marie Celeste the night before departure. Captain Morehouse and his crew were tried for murder, but acquitted. The missing crewmen were never found. (edit)
