Notes

add »
Bester's quote, "Reports of our depression are vastly exaggerated." is a paraphrase of the common misquote of Mark Twain, "Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated." The actual quote from June 2, 1897 was "The report of my death was an exaggeration." (edit)
During the opening credits, instead of a Babylon 5 logo, there is a PsiCorp insignia. The Babylon 5 logo appears at the end of the opening credits on the back end of the station. (edit)
This is only the second episode since Bruce Boxleitner joined the cast, that he doesn't appear in. In fact the only regulars that do appear are Jeff Conaway and Richard Biggs. (edit)

Psi Cop Bester: Game, set, match, be seeing you, doctor. (edit)
Psi Cop Bester: Oh, come on, doctor, we have a history here. Tell the truth. You don't want me here a second more than I want to be here.
Dr. Franklin: Personally, no. But as a doctor I have to treat all my patients equally, even the annoying self-righteous arrogant ones with self-important delusions of godhood.
Psi Cop Bester: Thank you, I feel far more at home now. (edit)
Jonathan Harris: I didn't do anything. The dark man and the laughing man ... and me and Harris, ... we are all in this together. It's nobody's fault, really. It's nobody's fault. We all did it. You have to understand, please. They made us do this. They got us in San Francisco. (edit)
Psi Cop Bester: These papers, different styles of handwriting, different names, but not different people. The same person, with multiple personalities. That's why we misidentified his rating. One personality was a P10, the other was a P12. It's rare, but it has happened before. (edit)
B5 Bartender: I've seen all kinds, kid. Seen an alien come through here last week with eight compound eyes and a glass stomach. Two fingers of gin, he's down, completely unconscious for a two full hours, and he wants to do it again. I've seen a naked Pak'ma'ra once. You know that hump on their back? It's not a hump at all, it's a ... (edit)

Trivia

Strangely, throughout the episode Walter Koenig never takes both gloves off, always leaving the glove in his left hand even when not wearing his uniform. (edit)
Bester says to the PSI Cop intern “You just might be PsiCorp material after all” after she kills her first mundane. Surely he means “PSI Cop material” as he has always stated that all telepaths are part of PsiCorp? (edit)

Allusions

add »
Jonathon Harris: The rogue telepath Bester is pursuing, played by Dex Eliot Sanders, bears the same name as the character actor who became famous for sharing the TV screen as Bill Mumy's foil on Lost in Space, the comic villain Doctor Zachary Smith. (edit)
When Zack says to Psi Cop Bester, ".... annexing Sudetenland?" he is referring to the infamous deal on September 29th , 1938 where Adolf Hitler, Neville Chamberlain, Edouard Daladier and Benito Mussolini signed the that transferred Czechoslovakia's Sudetenland to Nazi Germany. This betrayal of the Czech people was preceded by disinformation and agitation by a Nazi financed Sudten-German Party. The Nazi's police arm, the Gestapo, has similarities to Bester's Psi Corps.
