Back To The Future

Episode Number: 0    Season Num: 1    First Aired: Wednesday July 3, 1985    Prod Code: -3
It's October 26, 1985. Marty McFly's life isn't exactly brilliant. His father, George, is a pushover who is bullied by supervisor Biff Tannen, mother Lorraine is an alcholic, and brother Dave and sister Linda are losers. However, Marty's best friend, Dr. Emmett Brown, has invented a time machine!

An accident involving some Libyan terrorists sends Marty back to November 5, 1955 where he is stranded. Marty accidentally interferes with his parents' first meeting and after finding a much younger Doc for help, he discovers his mother has a crush on him instead of his father! Marty has to get his parents together-- or else he will never be born.

And as for getting back to 1985-- the only way to do that is to use the bolt of lightning that will strike the Hill Valley clocktower on November 12, 1955 at 10:04 PM. Will everything go to plan? It's a race against time for Marty McFly...

Notes

The scene with Doc sending Marty home is reused the following times:

- At the end of BTTF 2.
- At the beginning of BTTF 3.
- At the beginning of the animated series episode "Go Fly a Kite". (edit)
The graffiti on the front of the Hill Valley High School at the beginning of the movie includes 2 large "BOBs" - obvious nods to the creators Robert "Bob" Zemeckis and Bob Gale. (edit)
Singer Cameo, Huey Lewis: the "Battle of The Bands" judge with glasses and the megaphone. (edit)
When we see George's new book, Match Made In Space, on the spine, it says Proberts Publications. This is named after Andrew Probert, who made the cover of the book prop.
See it here. (edit)
This movie first debuted in 1985. (edit)

Marty: (Spies George in a tree looking into someone's window with binoculars) He's a peeping tom! (edit)

The ice on the DeLorean (revealed by Bob Gale in the commentary to be liquid nitrogen) would not be used in the sequels. (edit)
When the DeLorean backs up (towards the camera) at the end of the movie to take off into the air, the camera is reflected in the rear license plate. (edit)
When Marty is pretending to be Darth Vader, the hair dryer in his belt disappears and reappears (some extra footage, wherein Marty moves the hair dryer was cut from the final film). (edit)
When the DeLorean goes 1 minute into the future, the fire goes between Doc's legs but when the camera switches angles, it no longer does. (edit)
