Universal Television created "The Action Pack" where it revealed movies of the week back in 1994. They featured different characters and themes in hopes of turning these films into a tv show. One of these, Bandit, never made it to full television show status.
Bandit was loosely based based on the famous Burt Reynolds film Smoky and the Bandit. It starred 80's teen heartthrob Brian Bloom in the title role. Throughout all four made for tv movies that aired Bandit was assisted in his adventures by the governor's son Lynn. Lynn was played by Charmed's Brian Krause.
Other Action Pack releases included Hercules (which did make it to a television series), Vanishing Son (had short-lived success on tv), and two half hour tv shows: Jack of All Trades and Cleopatra 2525. The later was later made into an hour-long series of episodes.
Bandit first aired back in 1994 but the satellite TV channel "Sleuth" are airing all four Bandit shows in heavy rotation as they get the channel up and running.
