  • 24. Season 5, Ep 1: Honeymoon

    Barbara and Ted visit Scarborough to celebrate their 40th Anniversary. While Barbara is expecting a peaceful getaway in the expensive hotel she dreamt of when they wed, Ted has the surprise that they're actually staying in the cheap and tacky B&B they originally stayed at. Ted tries to make it more romantic and try to recapture the sparks but Barbara's having non of it. She realises that she may as well make the most of it and parties the night away with the football team also staying at the B&B.

  • 26. Season 5, Ep 3: Guy Fawkes

    Barbara and Ted find out that old friend Edna has recently died. They take a visit to her grieving husband Frank to pay their respects, finding he has taken up taxidermy as a hobby and has stuffed Edna! Ted is overjoyed when Linda buys him a shed for helping her out around the house, though Barbara is pushed out of the way for the shed which leaves her left to arrange their bonfire party alone. Meanwhile, Jean has recently found the delights of online shopping and unwittingly becomes addicted, forcing Clive to take drastic measures to avoid a large credit card bill.

    The Bonfire Party goes off with a bang; Jean hides her online shopping from Clive in Ted's shed and Barbara finds out Doreen has been moonlighting as a lap dancer at the old peoples home. With Edna in toe, Frank attends the party too, but Linda mistakes Edna for the guy and accidentally puts her on the bonfire! Neil's latest girlfriend, Lucy joins the family and they settle down to watch the fireworks, Ted sets off a big one which diverts into his shed setting it and Jean's shopping alight.

    Barbara and Ted reflect on the nights events, Ted realising that Barbara is more important than just a shed. Ted reveals that if Barbara dies first, Frank will stuff her for free.

  • 27. Season 5, Ep 4: Kirsty

    Barbara and Ted return home from holiday, Barbara's annoyed at Ted for getting a broken leg from chasing the luggage carousel, only to find that Neil has fallen head over heels for a pizza-delivery girl, but he is the one taking the orders. Neil and Ted very much like Kirsty but Barbara and Linda thinks she's dirty. Martin seems to be having a bout of bad luck, breaking and ruining everything around him. Until he meets up with his ex, who she calls the master. The family are shocked when Martin's ex turns out to be non other than Neil's soon th be fiance, Kirsty. After rekindling with Martin, Kirsty decides she can't get over him and decides not to carry on her and Neil's relationship (saying to Neil "He's a twelve course meal and your a happy meal.") Barbara and Linda are overjoyed that the 'meat feast in leather' won't be joining their family.

  • 28. Season 5, Ep 5: Cottage

    It's Barbara's sixtieth birthday and the family braces itself for the celebrations. Ted has made the plans - a whole weekend together in a remote country cottage. On the way there the family suffer boredom and have their hopes of food shattered by finding out Ted left the supplies behind. The family have trouble getting into the cottage, discovering the agency have double booked the cottage and rented it out to another family. Martin gives the recommendation of staying at a nearby hotel, en route the van breaks down in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of the night. Ted and Martin go searching for a farm, Martin falls down a ditch, Phil has a run in with a barn owl and Linda becomes quite annoyed with Jean's constant shouting about her personal problems. Unable to find the farm, Ted and Martin catch a lift from two hillbillies only to be robbed by them. Reflecting on the night's horrid events, the family find Doreen has had a mobile phone in her bag all the time.

    Barbara lies in a hospital bed after being shot with air rifle, Not so much of a case of 'who done it' more of a 'who didn't'.
