Barclay DeVeau has been working in the film and television industry since the age of seven. She began as an actress - appearing on Broadway and in television and films directed by brian depalma and alan J. pakula by the age of fourteen.
Always fascinated with what was happening behind the camera, Barclay began attending the university of southern california's film and television production program at the age of seventeen. While there, she worked on many student projects as a producer, writer, director, editor and actress. She also interned at tri-star/Columbia in the casting department and spent a summer running a commercial casting office in new york city.
In 1998, less than two years after graduating with her B.A. in cinema-television production, Barclay produced her first independent feature film entitled "The Girls' Room." This film received several awards including the audience award at the big bear film festival in 1999. It has since aired on showtime and has been released and widely distributed on video.
In the six years since producing her first film, Barclay has gone on to produce several more feature films and television shows for 20th Century Fox, USA, Sci-Fi and MTV. She received special recognition from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for her contribution to "The Magic of Television" in June of 2000 and she has been a featured guest lecturer for the University of Southern California's independent feature film workshop for the past four years.
In 2003, Barclay won a Sony Music Director's Award for her Tori Amos music video entitled "Taxi Ride".
