This two-part mini-series was the showcase for Genie Francis, the popular daytime actress from "General Hospital." The mini-series was highly successful, but CBS passed on turning it into a weekly series. Rival NBC, however, attempted to cash in on the formula by picking up "Bare Essence" as a weekly show, but had to wait until the end of 1982 when Genie Francis's contract with CBS expired. edit »
