- Baretta: Ingrid what are you doin' darling?
Ingrid: It's time for your sponge bath.
Billy: Oh no, he shouldn't be taking a bath.
Ingrid: Why not?
Billy: He overheats very easily.
Baretta: What!!! No, no, no. Don''t you remember, I got my thermostat adjusted with that little Italian girl on the fourth floor. You guys will have to excuse me now, I got to take my beauty bath. Ah Ingrid, I been waitin' all day for you darlin' . Ahhh my jug of the Yukon.
Nurse: Would you like to meet your new roommate now?
Baretta: Well certainly, if she's got red hair, on account of my dove of the Yukon has blonde hair. Right sweetie.
Bentley: Baretta, I hope you die before I do.
Baretta: Get that guy outta here, he's sick. edit » - Brubaker: The guy is a war veteran, he's got a plate in his head, send him back for treatment, he picks up the habit, kicks it, get's himself straightened out, he goes back Stateside and he get's married and everything's lookin' good, his wife walks out on him, he's got a kid wanderin' around someplace in the world. What do you do with a guy like that, he's got no arrest record, he's got no convictions of any kind, he can't hold down a job cause he's got headaches from a plate in his head. That's a lousy story isn't it.
Baretta: I know he's lonely I know he don't wanna be alone. He'll contact somebody, unless.
Brubaker: Unless what?
Baretta: Unless he's out there someplace sick and curled up in a hole somewhere like a rat in the city. Maybe we ain't never gonna get him. That means he's gonna die on us.
Brubaker: We'll all be in trouble won't we. edit » - Baretta: The poor jamoak is down on his luck, he's tryin' to bail himself out of a hard place. Now what would I do if I was him? edit »
- Brubaker: He ain't nothing but a delivery boy, we want to get to the people on top. The reason I'm bringing this up, you issue that public health alert, there are one of two choices, either he's gonna run and you're never gonna find him or else the people he's working for are going to blow him away because they don't want to be exposed. Now if they do that we won't know where he's been, or gotten in contact with you're gonna have the epidemic anyway. Now you give me better answers to what we can do here with this matter. edit »
- Political allusion: Baretta asks the cab driver which hotel he dropped his fare at. He replies the Truman, Baretta says there is no hotel named Truman but that there was a Dewey. Rice the cab driver replies well no wonder I couldn't remember, I voted for Truman. Reference is to the political race of 1948 when Thomas Dewey was favored to win but Harry S. Truman won the Presidency. edit »
