Brubaker: Look that's what they pay you and me for, right.
Baretta: You know as well as me that ninety percent of the junk that goes on in this town has to do with dope. Whether it's some strung out junkie who's robbin' a liquor store, or an organized crime against the bank, or rollin' over some poor old lady it's all dope.
Brubaker: Baretta you do job, you just go and do your job.
Baretta: And my job stinks. They ain't my kids, I ain't got no kids. But they got parents don't they. What do the parents do? They yell to the PTA. And what does the PTA do? They do nothin' . What do the politicians do? They don't do nothin'! The churches don't do nothin', the president don't do nothin'. They all stand there and what do they yell about, oh they yell about their taxes, the alkies, we gotta take care of the alkies we open AA's all over the country to fix the alkies. When it comes to some kid dyin' of dope, what do they all do, they turn their nose the other way and say hey cop I'm payin' ya fix it.
Brubaker: Hey, hey look what do you think this is some kind of romance we're gonna have a happy endin' here. You gonna spend a little time out on the street, you gonna solve the problems of the whole world. Let me tell you somethin' this is a lousy job, it stinks, you just go and do your job. (edit) Baretta: Listen Sister, don't mess around with Rosie, she'll bend you into a pretzel. (edit) Baretta: The jailhouse and the graveyard are full of people who said they'd get back to me. (edit)
