Notes

One of the best episodes, excellently portrayed by Pamelyn Ferdin as the young rape victim, Robert Blake puts in one of his finest performances as well and Albert Salmi as the brutal step-father couldn't be any slimier. (edit)

Baretta: Hello.
Judy: (in the Hospital) Hi.
Baretta: How are you?
Judy: Fine, how are you.
Baretta: Oh I'm fine, I was just wondering if you could help me.
Judy: Well what seems to be the problem.
Baretta: Well I'm lookin' for the department that takes care of lost Bears, you see I ran away from home and this big bad mean Pulaski, he wanted me to go back home again.
Judy: Well what did you do?
Baretta: Well I ate him.
Judy: I bet he didn't taste very good.
Baretta: Always sugar. Ah this here is your new friend and his name is Dorian. You have to be very careful or he's gonna wind up in jail on account of he steals. You see all them poor fathers out there, they ain't got no cigars cuz Dorian stole them. You want one.
Judy: Well I don't smoke but Lonny does.
Baretta: Oh that's terrific. I saw your mother and she's okay she's got a couple of knots on her head but she's two floors up and she would like to see you. I don't want to shove this stuff down your throat but maybe what that guy put away now, you two got a chance to get to know each other a little bit.
Judy: Yeah I guess but um not right away.
Baretta: I just want to tell you that I'm very proud of you for decidin' to keep that little whipper, I mean bein' young as you are and goin' ahead and bein' a mommy that's a big step, but I think it's terrific. She sure is a pretty little girl, she don't take after her mother at all. Now now a girl as ugly as you can get on in the world, see bein' as fancy as I am, I never had that problem. (edit)
Baretta: Personally pal, I'd like to rip your guts out whatcha did to that little girl, what I want to do is get Kruegar on account of I'm a cop. So if you want to make a statement, I'll get you off the hook with your old lady.
Becker: Thanks, I, I, I appreciate ...
Baretta: Save it. (edit)
Baretta: I mean one minute, it was all nice there, she's a nice lady and everything and the next minute you're screamin' and yellin' at each other, was that all about. I noticed you really was havin' a fit there over this guy Carl, what is he? Is he the problem honey, is he what's the matter.
Judy: (crying) He's my step-father.
Baretta: Tell me about it, kid. It can't be that bad. Oh my God, oh my God baby. Judy is he the one that got you pregnant, your step-father, huh. Come on baby, go on sugar.
Judy: (crying) He beat me up! He made me do it to him. And then he made me do it with one of those men.
Baretta: And you couldn't tell your mom cuz she's all you got in the world. And you couldn't tell her.
Judy: (crying) He beat me black and blue. He told me, he would kill me if I told her.
Baretta: Tell me this guys name. Tell me his friends name. Judy what's the friends name.
Judy: (crying) His name was Harry Becker, I remember because he and Carl used to get drunk together.
Baretta: Where do I find this guy? Nevermind, nevermind darlin' I'll find him. Ah listen girl, I love you honey, I'd like to stay her and just hold you in my arms and rock you and make everything all better. But I gotta do what's right, I gotta go out there and do my job, that's what I'm gonna do now. You gotta stay here and you're tough, you have a good cry. I know it don't mean much right now, but I promise you nobody in this world is ever gonna hurt you again. (edit)
Baretta: I've heard of chicken in a basket but I never heard of chicken in my drawers and just look what he did in my shorts. (edit)
