Golem
The Golem is a mythic creature/giant from Prague built to protect the Jewish population of Prague, and first referenced in the Bible, Psalm 139:16, as a "gal'mi." In the Talmud, Adam is initially created as a golem. edit »
Spider-Man
Terry swings in and saves Nash from the Golem Tee positioning of Terry (Batman) and Nelson are pretty much identical to Amazing Fantasy #15 which was the first appearance of Spider-Man. Throw in the fact that Willy Watt bears resemblance to Peter Parker, both in the duality of the name's alliteration motif and his nerdy appearance. A parallel can also be drawn from Nelson Nash to Spidey's Flash Thompson ... the athletic jock bully who torments Willy (or Peter) over a girl, (Blade here, and in the early Spidey comics Liz Allen) Terry also can be seen as having ties with the arachnid hero. He becomes a hero after he fails to listen to his father and learns a lesson of responsibility - much like Peter learns with losing his Uncle Ben. In "Rebirth," Terry talks to his mother and comments about saying some things he didn't mean to his father before he ran off - very much paralleling this aspect in 2002's Spider-Man movie with Tobey Maguire. edit »
