I loooooove the Scarecrow :D hide show

Does Batman got fat? Oh, no it was a man. What's doing a man flying like if he was Batman?...Never Fear. What a great episode. The new scarecrow design looks terrific and this time...it does not look like a scarecrow but it scares! o yeah! And then Bruce...Hey! take it easy, pal I just want some money! A fine example of the Gotham Knight series, it's on my top 10. "Fear is power" the voice of the scarecrow is relly creepy and it's perfects for him. When Batman was about to kill that guy and then the Scarecrow was so dark and so...Batman!!...Excellent

    NEW SCARY SCARECROW! hide show

The Scarecrow has returned and has created a new gas which takes away people's fears, which makes them do such crazy acts. Batman too is affected, and goes out of control.

One thing that should be noted about this episode is the Scarecrow's new look. He looks like some sort of grisly zombie, and now has a more grim voice, making him a more sinister villain and making me wonder how such a frightening monster could have the same name as a character from Wizard of Oz.

Batman, after being affected by Scarecrow's toxin, is such a traet to watch, because we are treated to a more ruthless, fearsome Batman who's not afraid to kill. This actually gives some insight into Batman's role as a hero and his character.

A fantastic episode worth watching for the new Scarecrow alone.

  • According to Stan Berkowitz: "The inspiration for the anti-fear gas was mostly desperation. The fear gas story had already been told, and I couldn't think of an interesting way of retelling it. Around that time, it occurred to me that much of what keeps society together is fear. Fear of authority, fear of reprisals if we act on all our impulses. Take away all that fear, and society would crumble (except, of course, for the people who are motivated purely by altruism and community spirit -- all two or three of them)." []
  • This is the first time we see the Scarecrow in his new upgraded costume. []
  • Jeffrey Combs takes over the role of The Scarecrow from Henry Polic II. []
