Paul Dini said that he got the inspiration for writting this episode while watching The Simpsons, even though this isn't a funny episode. (edit) The scene in which Batgirl is pushed off the building by Scarecrow is used in the Batman: Gotham City racer video game. Also used is the scene when Robin shouts: "No!" and Batman punches Scarecrow. (edit) Was voted the second best episode of the animated Batman series in an online poll conducted in 2002 to celebrate the series' tenth anniversary.
