What do you mean? Are you asking us to list the mainstream comics or explain what mainstream means? Sorry, the question confused me a bit.

Mainstream comics. Do you mean the dc continuity from actual comic titles, like in batmans case, detective comics and batman?

Wait a sec... Mainstream isn't a company that manufactures comics. Mainstream is a term that means the sort of central, core run of comics. What I mean by that is that the 'mainstream' Batman comics are Detective Comics and Batman (as Sporkman said) in DC, and the mainstream Spider-man comic is Amazing Spider-man, in Marvel. I think you thought that mainstream was a comic company name, right DarthFreeza?

    That's a good explanation

Ok thank you. I was very confused at first. It is just so hard for me to tell what is and isn't Mainstream and what is from another continuality and whether or not these two comics are linked to eachother. Recently I've read The Killing Joke and I got all confused as to whether or not it was connected to this comic or that or mainstream or anything else.

yeah, killing joke is considered part of the mainstream batman continuity, although michael green recently screwed it up with his Lovers and Madmen story arc in Batman Confidential

The best way to tell would be to look at the copyright page in the book. It tells what issues are in a story (like Detective Comics #670, Batman #553, Robin #3, whatever). Anything that is Detective Comics or Batman is the main continuity, something that looks like a miniseries (or if something seperate like All-Star Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder) then it isn't, but may still fit. The best bet if you aren't sure woudl be to ask the comic shop owner if thats where you are.

Even some things that aren't the main continuity are good and should be read. The Jeph Loeb/Tim Sale books are great, but aren't main continuity.

If you consider Hush main continuity, then, yeah they are. Anyway, there are few comics taking place in Batman's early days, and multiple of these stories contradict themselves

And Darthfreeza, Batman Confidential is written by multiple creators for each story arc. Michael Green and Denys Cowan are good creators, imo, but those behind Wraths Child are.
