The robot that Batman and Robin first see when walking into Carl Rossum's room is an imitation of Bat-Mite from the comics. Later it was paired up with the VHS The Adventures Of Batman & Robin: The Joker (consisting of "Christmas With The Joker" and "The Laughing Fish") on DVD. (edit) Karl Rossum follows a character arc similar to Kirk Langstrom in the series. Rossum starts as villain ("Heart of Steel, Part 1"), then a suspect based on M.O. ("His Silicon Soul"), then an expert in a certain field who points to a suspect more fanatical than he was ("Deep Freeze").
