Poison Ivy: You and your kind owe Mother Nature a big dept and I'm going to see that you pay it.
(edit)
When Bruce combined Poison Ivy's chemical with human blood in a test tube, a violent chemical reaction resulted creating an rapidly growing vine and destroying the test tube.
This is obviously exaggerated for dramatic effect as Alfred and others consumed the same chemical and had no such reaction in their stomachs as the chemical entered their bloodstreams. (edit) The clothing, jewelry, and eyeglasses worn by Ivy's 'grove' have begun to turn to wood. None of those things would have turned to wood, since they are not made of human flesh, and therefore would not react to Ivy's enzyme. (edit) The names of enzymes predominantly (if not always) end with the suffix '-ase'. Naming an enzyme 'demetrite', rather than 'demitrase' makes your story that much more suspect, especially to people who are running chemical companies. (edit)
