Incredible show. Amazing artwork. Looks like a comic book come to life. The show is based on the legend of the Caped Crusader battling crime in Gotham City. Whether it's street thugs or Supervillians, he's always one step ahead. hide « show »

The show is about Bruce Wayne who, I hope, we all know is Batman. This a really great show if your a true fan of Batman. This is the real thing. The characters look perfect unlike the ones in The Batman. The Joker had dreadlocks for heaven's sake. It has The Joker along with Harley Quinn, Scarecrow, Poison Ivy, Two-Face, The Penguin, The Riddler, Clayface, Bane, Man-Bat, Mister Freeze, and who could forget Catwoman. There are more villians but these are most of them. But of course Batman gets Robin and Batgirl to help him. But we all know Alfred is the man with the plan. It's a great show that i wish wouldnt have ended.

Amazing! Stupendous! Awesome! Fabulous! I would run out of superlatives trying to describe this show. :) hide « show »

This is probably one of the greatest cartoon shows of all time. Hell, for a show that ran for only 4 seasons, it was pretty damn awesome. Hats off to Bruce Timm! The voices [especially Batman and Joker!], the animation, the plots, the villains- everything was pretty much spot on. This show was the template which all the succeeding cartoon shows [Superman TAS AND Justice League] have tried to emulate... What was revolutionary about this show was that it was dark, gritty, and meant for adults. For the first time ever, here was a cartoon show that was NOT meant for kids. How awesome is that? The creators aimed big and they certainly achieved it.

In my opinion, this ought to be watched by everyone who is a comics fan. If you really wanna understand Batman's psyche, you should watch this.

The best 90's Cartoon out there. hide « show »

Yes, Batman The Animated Series is the best show of the 90's. I grew up watching this show when I was little and I remember I was quite scared while watching it. But somehow I liked the dark-like atmosphere that surrounded Batman and his adventures. I have rewatched the show at the age of 18 and I still liked it more than the other cartoons out there at the moment (not counting Anime). The plot in Batman TAS is just fantastic and brilliant at the same time. It is a true detective story about a vigilante seeking peace in his hometown. Pure gold, a must watch for any criminal/drama fan.

I love Batman. He was one of my childhood heroes growing up. The animated series was the start of a new generation of cartoons. I wish CN could bring it back. hide « show »

I love Batman. He was of my childhood heroes growing up. The animated series was the start of a new generation of saturday morning cartoons. It had everything drama, suspense, action, I wish CN would bring it back one day but I know it is not going to happen. Or at least pull it off Jetix and put it back on Boomerang. Anyway, I never missed a single episode of that wonderful show. I always wake up on saturday mornings just to watch it. The animated series will always be in the heart of every Batman fan around the world.

Batman:TAS is an all-time classic. Dark and brooding, with engaging story-lines, and great voice acting. Highest recommendation. hide « show »

Batman:TAS is one of the all-time classics of animation and is standing the test of time well.

American animation took a step up in quality in the 90s, and I think Batman:TAS is the single best example of that notch up in quality. The difference between Batman:TAS and ealier superhero cartoons is night and day. The animation much smoother, the stories more interesting, and the voice acting much better.

Bruce Timm gets tremendous credit here for the overall look and design. The first thing you notice is the sheer darkness of the color palette. No cartoon had ever reached such moody, murky depths. The color scheme and velvety richness gave Batman:TAS a palpable feeling of mystery and, often, foreboding.

That mysterious feel easily pulls in older teens and adults, but I think the show plays well with tween kids as well. It might be a touch dark for very young children, but otherwise is an all-ages classic.

In my book, Batman:TAS was the pinnacle of American animation in the 90s.
