    ALL THIS CONTAINS SPOILERS

Official discussion for The Dark Knight. Post your thoughts, or doubts. I have a doubt:

Batman takes the blame of Two Face 's crimes, but....2face's crimes were,,,..the dirty cop that he shoted in the bar...and Maroni's driver..why people care so much about it and start a manhunt?

Nobody can know that Harvey Dent, Gotham's White Knight, had 'fallen beneath the cracks' and killed. Even though the only ones he killed were Maroni, the cop and Maroni's driver (whom we assume isn't one of the 'good guys') he still killed and broke the law. So as not to let the citizens of Gotham lose hope they had to be lead to believe that Harvey Dent died a hero. Batman knew this and had to take the blame for what had happened. The crime of being charged with killing the three mentioned above plus vigilantyism and the dislike for Batman that was circulating from Gotham since the Joker first comitted a crime all lead to the manhunt for Batman.

I know that, but my point is....why should people care about dirty cops and mob bosses?

The only two answers that would come to mind are:

    * They arn't only hunting him because of killing dirty cops and mob bosses but because of what Batman does. He is a vigilanty which is against the law, but nobody seemed to care about that before until the Joker came along. He turned Gotham City against Batman in an ingenioused way. This made his crimes stand out to the citizens of Gotham in a more serious way.

    * I'm not sure but did Batman also take the blame for killing Harvey Dent? Nobody knew that he became Two-Face but everyone knows he died. Batman may have taken the blame for killing Sal Maroni, his driver, the cop, and Harvey Dent.

You mean you don't think that Batman took the blame for killing Harvey?

I think it's quite possible. People don't just die at his age without a reason and Batmna killing him would be very believable to the citizens of Gotham.

Yes I meant about Harvey.....but the reason of Harvey's death (to the people) was not told...so you can say that people think that Bats killed him or he fell in....a.....well just an accident

Well either way, Gotham Citizens weren't so crazy about Batman at the time and as Gordon said: "We have to chase him. He is the hero Gotham deserves but not the one it needs right now. So we will chase him. Because it needs to be done. Because he can take it. Because he isn't a hero. He is Gotham's Dark Knight..." (I butchered that quote xD)

LoL whatever. Same basic idea. The only extremely important quotes I rememebr in the movie are "Ok fine, you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain." and "Kill you, why would I wanna kill you? You wont kill me because of some moral opinion of right and wrong and I wont kil lyou because your just too much damn fun! I feel that we're destined to do this forever and ever. Hahahahahahahahaha!"

Well it earned a third of that between preshowings and midnights, which little kids wouldnt go to anyway. Its probably people wanting to see Heaths "best and last" film, and movielovers who try to see every film which gets a high rating.

Also, alot of people probably didnt wanna see batman begins in theatres, since the last two films were infamously known for sucking, but waited for the dvd, and said "Hey this rocks. Im gonna go see the sequel film as soon as possible" ...And from all us nerds watching it, like 10 times. (Id probly be up to 20 now if i had a car)
