During a routine-patrol, Mitch saves an Italian actress named Lena Fiori from the water. When she leaves the beach, two robbers named Sturgis and Dorsch follow her home and robs her. She calls the police and Garner calls Mitch about it. He invites her home for dinner where Hobie has cooked a delicious meal. Later, he sends her away to a motel.

When Sturgis and Dorsch come to the set where Lena is filming her new movie, she sees them in the audience because one of them is using her lighter. Mitch runs after them but loses them. Sturgis and Dorsch decide to pay her a visit later on and plan to silence her. Luckily, Mitch and Garner arrive at the same time and Garner arrests them.

Meanwhile, Guidoīs mom is arriving from Italy and the only problem is that he has told her that he is a lifeguard. He didnīt have the heart to tell her that he is just a maintenance man. He convinces Summer and C.J. to help him out and they agree to train him to be a real lifeguard. Of course, they donīt succeed and Guido looks like anything but a lifeguard in his lifeguard clothes.

However, when Mrs. Torzini has arrived, they let him patrol between their towers. Suddenly, when Guido is on patrol between their towers, Summer and C.J. have to leave him and rescue someone else.

Guido is left alone and has to make a rescue. He manages to complete the rescue but he has had enough and tells his mother the truth. She tells him she didnīt believe it in the first place but even though Guido isnīt a lifeguard, she is proud of him nonetheless. She tells him that she has decided to stay in California permanently.
