Just watching some of these episodes on SoapNet and am kind of shocked at some of the decisions that are made by some of the characters, particularly in later seasons. Case in point: Donna taking her activist stance against Steve's father's sweatshop. While nobody finds sweatshops defensible, how many of you would take the same actions Donna did if one of your friends' fathers was engaged in something like this?

Also, when Brandon discovers that David's music career is taking off because his record label rep is paying deejays to play his song...what kind of friend would rain on your parade like that? And also, how does David, who was working in a CAR WASH, decide to throw it all away because...he didn't come by his success honestly?!?

I understand this stuff less and less the more I see it. That, of course, says nothing of Kelly snatching Dylan away from Brenda while she was overseas.

Well, I wouldnt stand against it if it was my friends father, but I dont find sweatshops defensible either. But Donna always sticks her nose into things like that, lol. The Brandon/David thing I dont really know about because I havent seen it in a long time. The D/B/K thing I totally believe because Kelly was that shady and b!tchy to Brenda to do it. I didnt really think Dylan would do it but he does have that apaethetic thing to him. So I could believe that whole thing.

The thing I find not ethical about the show that I always have a prob with is how insestuous this group is. I cant find another group of people/friends/whatever who would sleep or even kiss half the people they did who went out with other friends.

The thing that irritates me the most on this show is how the women have no spines. For example, Donna continuously caved in and forgave her boyfriends for all sorts of indiscretions; Kelly did the same thing. The women are portrayed as either virgins or sluts. The women don't seem to go after the men who hurt them, but instead go after the women. The Brenda/Kelly/Dylan triangle is just one example. Kelly and Brenda argued with one another while nobody accused Dylan of being a bad boyfriend having gone after Kelly.

Another point, the men seem to sleep with a number of women and are seen as studs; the women are sluts. Look at Val; raped by her father, leading her to a life of backstabbing. Andrea gets pregnant after having sex with only two guys; Kelly miscarries, thinks she might develop HIV (so does Val), Carly, a single mom, is said by Steve to have a "hellish" existence, while Steve, Brandon, Dylan, et al, sleep around and never have to worry about the consequences. Noah is accused of rape, as Val was drugged, and nobody believes Val...she's the slut?!!!

And while some will say that Donna maintained her virgin status while it cost her relationships, she gave into the abusive treatment by the men in her life. David constantly pointed out the fact that they weren't intimate...Ray, well that's self explanatory...Noah, please. WTF!!!

Then, Janet, only wants to sleep around, while Steve, wants something more...the men are the saints and the women are the sinners, who must be made to pay for their sins.

Time and time again, the women are steamrolled by the men in their lives, and they just accept it, as their lives are somehow incomplete without the wonderful men of BH90210.

Doesn't this bother anybody else? It really makes me angry how spineless the women are.

Omg - I feel the exact same way! Especially about D/D! I was like Donna grow some balls and say something like "if you want sex so much then go somewhere else because we're through!" Its SOO annoying, especially back in the HS years David was such a geek it wasnt like he had all these women after him so if Donna wasnt going to give it up he had all these other choices.

Thanks, Stellarchick86! I was beginning to think I was the only one out there who felt this way. I was watching "Marathon Man" this afternoon, and I just saw when Noah fires Sonia from the store and Donna just stands there. UGH!!! I agree with you, stellarchick, grow some balls, Donna! Geez.

    Youre welcome!
And yeah- haha- I agree! Thats why I cant stand Donna sometimes. If I was Donna, no way would I have put up with Kelly for 10+ years, and David sometimes as well.

I just watched the episodes from the beginning of season 10, and even though I've seen them several times prior, this time, it took like every ounce of strength I had to not hurl something at my television set.

Why in the heck is Noah making Donna feel so guilty for sleeping with Wayne? Donna apologizes to him and basically grovels...I'm sorry but doesn't Donna recall season 8 when he slept with Val?! Oh, but Noah was drunk and upset so its fine. Come on, Donna, smack him right across his smug holier than thou face. Eesh.

The whole Janet pregnancy story line irritates me as well. Perhaps she should have told Steve, but making her feel guilty about wanting to keep the child is rediculous. Plus, how pathetic is the whole Steve believing Janet got a boob job anyway...eesh. It makes me want to just hurl.

And, and, and...the whole let's forgive all the guys of their discrestions, but Gina cannot be forgiven?! The "others", anyone who is not of Hills caliber is immediately singled out and never meant to fit in...Val, Gina, Matt....

Seasons nine and ten were just bad; badly written and badly acted, and what's up with the wierd hairdo's? I won't even bother commenting on the lame attempts at comedy...the practical joke war?! yuk! The camping trip...ew! So much lameness.

During these two seasons the actors just seemed like they were going through the motions. The acting actually got worse. I now remember very clearly why I hated these two seasons, they are horrible...so far from what the show used to be.

^^^ lol I agree...season 10 is painful to me too. There may be like 2-3 episodes that I can stand but for the most part no.

The only thing i like about season 10 is Steve and Janet settling down, because I was always a fan of them...

But agreed...i stopped Tivoing the show becuase it is on the season that bores me to death! Cant wait that they are almost to the beginning again tho!

I agree..I cant wait till s1 starts back up again, even though s1 does move kind of slow. And I hate that alarm clock thing in the pilot Brandon has that keeps saying 'wake up' its creepy! Almost as bad as JP's mullet!

Y'all are cracking me up! But I have to agree, 9 & 10, what I saw of them were horrible!! At least I'm pretty sure they were.... they were so painful to watch I've almost completely blocked them out! If I squint my eyes and concentrate really hard bits and pieces come back to me - these names you mention, Gina, Matt, they sound familiar..... Uh oh, I've strayed too far into the abyss.... The memories are too painful..... The darkness is taking me again, and there is a great roaring sound around me.... Ahhhhhh............... Aunty Em! Aunty Em!.............

Gee Toto, I don't think we're in Minnesota anymore!
