YAY!!!!OK.I am bitter to this day about Dylan and Kelly ending up together. It was the stupidest thing that the writers ever did, maybe,ok, its right up there with calling off Brandon and Kelly's wedding. Screw what really happened. In my mind Kelly ended up with Brandon, and Dylan ended up with Brenda, as it should be.

Yep, in my mind, Brandon and Kelly found their way back to each other (which many people believe anyway) and so did Dylan and Brenda. I agree the stupidest thing they ever did was stop Brandon and Kelly getting married. Stupid writers... I HATE them for that. And my DK hate, well everyone knows that by now
My favorite ever BK scene would have to be their first time in Mr Walsh Goes To Washington Part 2. That scene is so sexy and so beautiful all in one. Just perfect. And my favorite DB scene ever is probably their first kiss in Isn't It Romantic? Because its so intense |

^ But it's not really the writers fault that Dylan and Kelly "ended up" together. We can blame them for bad storylines, but the ending had to do with who was available in the cast. We should be angry at FOX and Aaron Spelling for continuing the show without Jason, we should be pissed at Jason for leaving, we should be upset at Luke for returning and at Shannen for not returning. They're the ones to blame, moreso than the writers. That being said, in my mind, the ending is K/B and B/D forever and always. I agree with Jennie Garth...Kelly belongs with Brandon. My favorite B/K scene is their kiss in "Change Partners," and my favorite D/B scene is the "Isn't it Romantic" kiss also. |

I love the B/K scene in "Change Partners" too. But the writers didn't have to put Dylan and Kelly together just because Jason and Shannen didn't come back.

^ So you would rather have Kelly "end up" with Matt and have Dylan be alone? I hate both Dylan/Kelly and Matt/Kelly, so I would have been unhappy either way. Since Brandon and Brenda weren't there, Dylan/Kelly and Matt/Kelly were the only options.
I'm just thinking from the writers POV. Since Kelly/Brandon or Brenda/Dylan weren't possible, they went with Kelly/Dylan. Kelly/Dylan have some fans, whereas Kelly/Matt really don't have any. |

I don't see why they couldn't have still hinted that Kelly went off to be with Brandon in the end. So what if Dylan came back? It was made blatantly clear in Season 7 that Brandon was her true love. So in spite of all the screw-ups the writers made with BK in Seasons 8 and 9, they could've had Brandon write to her or call her off screen and brought Kelly to the realisation that she was still in love with him, and gone off to be with him. Screw Dylan and screw Matt, neither of them even compare.

^ Yeah I would have liked that too. I'm a huge B/K fan so that would have been awesome. But, it would have gone against the storylines of Seasons 9-10, which focused on Kelly being torn between Matt and Dylan. So the only way I see the writers willing to be inconsistent with previous storylines is if Brandon came there in person. Kelly could then realize that Brandon is the only one she wants to be with. Otherwise, it wouldn't be believable to a lot of fans if they did something off-screen. Same thing with Dylan and Brenda. A D/B reunion could have only worked if Brenda was there in person. Maybe that's why they teased us with Brandon's videotape and Kelly's remark? I'm thinking it would've been B/K if Brandon showed up in person. |

Well all I know is that 8/9/10 are the biggest representations of crap in the history of tv shows. omg it just proved how integral the walshes really were to the show. jason leaves and disaster strikes. jason confesses he wants to leave and writers punish BK for it.

^ I agree. No Walshes = No 90210. Season 8 should have definitely been the last. If the show ended after Season 8, with B/K married, I think you and I would both love that season, LOL. I like the thread title and especially the -no DKers allowed part. LOL. I don't understand why Jason got tired of playing Brandon though. I mean, he and Jennie got to make out with each other in almost every episode. I don't see how either of them could get bored of that. Jennie's already said Jason was the best kisser on the show and how she enjoyed working with him the most. |

sheerwill, you and i think so alike on this
jason's reasons for leaving season 9? no idea. i am angry, i admit. he should've considered the fans as well as himself. people invested time into supporting kelly/brandon. he must've known what him leaving would do to the couple. did he care? don't know. but we cared, and thousands of others did. jennie knows kelly was better off with brandon. jason played brandon for years anyway, what harm would it have done to stay for one more season? thanks for the thread title compliment! thought it best to strictly point out only BK/DB fans in case DKers lurked and went crazy over the DK bashing! |

Thanks all of you for this thread! I could not, would not stand for D/K. They never made sense to me. There are moments from season three where I could literally go through my television and just slam Kelly against a wall, locker, etc. I agree with gwen13579, the writers so could have made Kelly go off and be with Brandon. How ridiculous that they felt they had to put Dylan with Kelly. And, the writers could not have waited until Jason Priestly was free to film in person? He was so vital to the show, not just for his acting, but for acting, directing, and producing. Furthermore, couldn't they have written something that would perhaps have made Jason want to stay?! Aside fromIsn't It Romantic, and other scenes, I loved when Dylan gave Brenda that special gift before her performance. I just loved watching Shannen and Luke on screen; they were so engaging. It was madness to not bring them together, nor hint at it at their reconciliation at the end. Horrible, Horrible, most horrible. I really don't consider anything after season 7 to even be the same show. Once they added, (ugh) Noah, broke up B/K and D/D it was over!!! My students could have written more successful episodes. The ones from the last three seasons were inconsistent, rehashing of Melrose Place and old 90210. Lame, lame, most lame!! |

^ Season 7 is the last season for me, too. Everything else is just contrived crap.
The videotape in the finale - wtf?? SO irritating. The writer of that episode clearly had no respect for brandon or his fans. Why bother putting Jason in the episode at all if that's what they were gonna do? It's so insulting. And DK at the end... omg that finale was just beyond bad. |

Oh, I so know what you mean about D/K at the end. I hated, hated, hated that last scene of them kissing. "It's not a one time offer." UGH!!! I hated the video tape as well. And, please, could the tape have been more lame. He was on screen for like what five seconds. Also, did it bother anybody else that Steve chose Dylan to be the godfather of his daughter? Hello?! After everything he and Brandon went through, after all the fires Brandon pulled Steve out of, after all of that, Dylan and Kelly...pluhleeeeeeeze!That to me was a huge slap in the face for Brandon and his fans. How badly did the writers want to force the audience to like D/K. Maddie will always see the two of you as connected....what garbage!! I was beyond irritated by that. What the hell were they thinking? Maybe we viewers should have gone on strike! LOL |

I'm with gwen13579 and LAWelk. A hint of Kelly going to be with Brandon would have been alright with me. Also Kelly/Dylan or Kelly/Matt, were not the only choices, who says Kelly had to end up with anyone in the end.I think the writers were trying to get out easy by putting them together in the end. The finale was really bad it was soooo UGHHHHHHH!!!!! Brandon and Kelly make the perfect couple, I just can't see DYlan and Kelly having a future together, a family, etc, with Brandon I can see that.

I always wished they had ended 90210 in season 8 with k/b getting married. So funny Both Luke and Jennie knew that D/B and K/b belonged together. Everytime K/D were together they always fought over anything and everything. What got on my nerves that Dylan was telling Kelly were soulmates. Like yeah right. Everyone knew D/B were soul mates and same with K/b.

I still don't see how they could have gotten Kelly and Brandon back together based on the S9-10 storylines and the fact that Brandon wasn't there in person. How would they imply that and make it seem believable if Brandon wasn't there? I would have loved a K/B ending, but it would have felt contrived to the average viewer, just like the K/B breakup did. I think the reason they didn't wait until Jason was free to appear in person was because FOX cancelled the show, so everything had to be rushed in the end. Hmm, maybe that's another reason why the writers went with Dylan/Kelly, instead of putting Kelly/Brandon and Brenda/Dylan back together? The writers may not have had the time or ability to come up with a better and more creative ending. I actually thought Brandon's videotape was a nice touch. It was better than nothing. S9-10 were so bad IMO, that Brandon's videotape was the biggest highlight of those two seasons for me. LOL. At least it showed that Brandon still loved Kelly, and Kelly's remark indicated that she still loved him too. I agree about the godparents crap. It's like they were trying to reinforce the whole "soulmates" connection. That was complete bullsh*t. I guess they knew at that point that Kelly/Brandon and Brenda/Dylan would be unlikely options, so they tried to give more credibility to Kelly/Dylan. It's unfortunate and sad that 90210 had to end on such a low note. I wish they ended it with a Brandon/Kelly marriage after Season 8...then they would have gone out with a bang like Friends did. |
