Dennis Franz and Peter Jurasik reprise as Detective Norman Buntz and Sid (Thurston) the Snitch from Hill Street Blues in this short-lived spinoff. In it Buntz moves from "the Hill" (of Hill Street Blues) to Beverly Hills, California, and Sid ends up there as well. This combined the fish-out-of-water plot with Buntz as a hardened cop in laid back L.A., and the mismatched buddies concept from movies like Lethal Weapon.
