Samantha sets up a play for a rest home to celebrate the end of the Civil War. As she writes, Endora brings her characters to life to help Sam out. Of course, nosy Gladys see all this and goes crazy, as usual. Sam suffers a writer's block near the end of writing, and her play characters lend a hand to tie up the loose ends.

Darrin: Honey, he’ll understand. He’s a psychiatrist. His life is filled with broken promises. (edit) Samantha: Well, when I kiss you, I can’t think about anything else. And when I stop thinking they disappear. Now you kiss me.
Darrin: Why, are they back? (edit) Confederate Captain: But I tell you Ma’am, if I have to face the enemy clean shaven why, I’d rather lose the war.
Samantha: You’re southern. You did lose.
Confederate Captain: Don’t dampen my spirits Ma’am. I don’t know that yet. (edit) Endora: Write mortal, think witch. (edit) (Samantha writes poetry about the Civil War)
Endora: Do you realize, the war might take longer to write than it did to fight? (edit)
