Jim Backus was their first choice for the part of Abner Kravitz, but turned he it down because he was already working on "Gilligan's Island" . (edit) Samantha was originally going to be named Cassandra In the original draft of the pilot. (edit) Rehearsals for the pilot were supposed to begin November 22, 1963. However, the rehearsal was postponed because of the assassination of President Kennedy. (edit) After the ashtray moving scene, Samantha zaps Darrin a drink. He looks at the drink and starts to collapse. In the next view of him, he is in a chair and the empty glass is sitting on the table with the straw laying across the top of the glass. (edit)
