The Veto Competition this week is called, “A Lotta Piñata.” It requires the six players participating, James (who chooses Ivette), Sarah (who picks Jennifer), and Howie (who chooses Rachel), to divide the ten “candies” that they are given into the other player’s piñatas – they must put candies in at least two of the piñatas, and the objective is to, at the end of the game, have your own piñata contain the closest amount of candies to 20 without going over. All four non-nominees attempt to get rid of Sarah and James by packing the pair’s piñatas with candies, but all reconsider their strategies, which bites them in the butt – James comes the closest to 20, winning the Golden Power of Veto. Janelle serves as the hostess for this game. (edit) At the Veto Ceremony, James uses the Golden Power of Veto to remove himself from the block. In his place, HoH Howie nominates Ivette for eviction. Howie: I think James and Ivette are a more lethal pair than James and Sarah. (edit) Ivette: April talked to me about me being the pawn. She fricken volunteered herself! The night before the Veto Game, there is a big Mexican-style party set up in the backyard, complete with a margarita machine and art supplies in order for the players to decorate piñatas that will be used in the Veto Competition the next day. The players are supposed to make their piñatas into a likeness of themselves; thus, Howie creates a “mini-Howie,” Sarah creates a sad and crying piñata, Janelle makes her “glamorous,” and James gives his the Power of Veto around his neck, a halo floating above his head, and two middle fingers for hands. (edit) Later in the episode, the Head of Household introduces the players to the pleas from Kaysar, Eric, and Michael that America heard on Saturday night. The houseguests are then supplied with colored dyes and paints to tie-dye shirts and “advertise” to bring one of the evicted houseguests back into the game. Ivette, Maggie, Beau, April, and Jennifer all make shirts for Eric; Rachel, Howie, and Sarah advertise for Kaysar; James tells America to “keep ‘em” all; and Janelle is the only one who wants Michael back in the house. (edit) At the Veto Competition, James receives 18 candies in his piñata, followed by Howie's 16, Sarah's 10, Rachel's 7, Jen's 6, and Ivette's 3. (edit) This episode marks the third time that James has been saved by the Golden Power of Veto. Of the past four seasons, only BB5's Diane, BB4's Allison tie him on this record. (edit)
