As Roger is about to engage the three unknown MegaDeuses, Angel watches on. She sees Big O launch a laser cannon onto one of the MegaDeuses, though it only inflicts minor damages. Roger cocks both of Big O’s fists and he hits two different MegaDeuses at the same time. However, they get right back up and continue their assault against Big O!

One of the MegaDeuses grabs Big O’s right fist with its mouth, then it uses a sonic weapon to damage the arm and tear it out of its socket. Dastun orders the Military Police to open fire in order to assist Big O, which knocks one of the MegaDeuses off of its feet. Roger takes advantage of the situation and performs some pile drive punches into the face of the downed MegaDeus.

Two of the enemy MegaDeuses recover, despite the fact that they’re all dented up from where Roger hit them earlier. They both bomb Big O with electric shocks, causing it to fall to its knees. Roger begins to get desperate, and as a result starts to have flashbacks about whom he really is and what his purpose is in life.

Suddenly, Roger finds himself in a busy subway. He looks around the streets, though he doesn’t know where exactly he is because this Paradigm City doesn’t have domes and there is no sign of the amnesia. Roger decides to go home, since he doesn’t know where else to go. When eh gets there, he finds out that his house is now a bank and that it is operated by Beck. Roger makes a scene at the bank and is eventually thrown out.

With nowhere to go, Roger wanders the streets. He soon stumbles across the Nightingale and spots Dorothy and Timothy Wayneright. Roger is soon perplexed when she blinks just like a human would. He continues to wander and begins to think about why he quit the Military Police and when he first encountered Norman.

It begins to rain and Roger begins to grow even more depressed. He feels that he was only playing a role and that he never really was Roger Smith. Angel shows up, dressed in a military uniform, and addresses Roger as Major. She insists that her name is not Angel, although he continues to call her that. He gets into the backseat of her car, still thinking that he’s an actor, and Angel begins to drive away.

He has a conversation with Angel that implies that the entire flashback is really addressing Roger’s deep-seated fears. Angel asks him if he wants to run away again. He admits that he does have fear and that he’s avoided facing them. Roger suddenly appears back on the street and he’s talking to Dorothy. He gives Roger a pep talk about who he really is and that he isn’t an actor, which causes Roger to get back to reality.

Roger awakens from his dream and he discovers that only a few seconds have gone by. Realizing that he’s still in the middle of the fight, he uses Big O’s good arm to knock all three MegaDeuses off of their feet, in which he then uses Big O’s rocket powered grapplers to fire in twelve different directions at the same time. Dastun orders the Military Police to make a tactical retreat.

Roger slams down his fist on the firing button and the grapplers all launch, hitting a ship, a lighthouse, part of the harbor’s seawall, and all three of the MegaDeuses. They begin to break down to the point where they are no longer operational.

Back at Paradigm HQ, Alex Rosewater decides that the three damaged MegaDeuses must be recovered by the Military Police, in which he gives those orders to a mysterious man whom isn’t fully visible.

Meanwhile, Big O returns to the base while Angel looks on at it, clearly upset with Roger and Paradigm’s actions.
