Bill Engvall will host southern version of America's Funniest Home Videos.

Now, them yankees won't be the only ones who done laughed at them own hijinks.

Comedian Bill Engvall has been lassoed to host a new half-hour comedy seires on CMT, Country Fried Videos. The show was so popular as a half-hour special that aired in March, it is being brought back for a full run.

Country Fried features wacky videos submitted by users to CMT.com. The videos may feature shenanigans from the home, possibly involving dads slipping on banana peels or babies falling out of high chairs, or from the outside world, where unsuspecting joggers are frightened by a man in a bear suit. Viewers will be able to see the best clips from each week's episode on CMT's Web site.

Engvall is a stand-up comedy veteran, having appeared in both of the Blue Collar Comedy tour movies and The Jeff Foxworthy Show. In 2004, he again paired with Foxworthy in the popular WB series Blue Collar TV. Engvall will next appear in the film Delta Farce, the politically sensitive tale of three National Guardsman who think they are going to Iraq but instead wind up in Mexico and liberate a small village.

The show is from the makers of Maximum Exposure, the long-running syndicated reality show featuring grotesque videos of motorcycle accidents and medical procedures. Country Fried Videos premieres on CMT Friday, June 30, at 9 p.m.

My gosh, I seriously hope that this does not have the same effect that The Jeff Foxworthy Show had... Why do people always feel that they should break off and become their own with a television show spin-off? Country Fried Videos is a catchy name, though. But he should just stick with Blue Collar TV. It's really hard on an actor when their show is cancelled...

Bill is far too talented and funny to be doing a stupid show like this, I am disappointed.

Doesn't America's Funniest Home Videos already accept submssions from all over America?

This seems like it will be pathetic. But who knows?
