Mork and the gang reunite for Comic Relief 2006

Original relievers of comedy Whoopi Goldberg, Billy Crystal, and Robin Williams get the band back together after a seven-year absence.

Charity is funny again.

Comic Relief, the star-studded comedy benefit that ran on HBO for 12 years, is making a comeback. Comic Relief 2006 will air live on HBO, and on sister Time-Warner network TBS at 9 p.m. November 18, from Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. The show will be tape-delayed for the West Coast.

The three original hosts--Robin Williams, Billy Crystal, and Whoopi Goldberg--will also return, with more guests to be announced. The new special will raise money for victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Between 1986 and 1998, Comic Relief showcased some of comedy's biggest names. John Candy, Milton Berle, Sid Ceasar, Dave Chppelle, David Cross, and Katie Couric all performed on the show.

Goldberg will next be seen in the comedy Homie Spumoni, and Crystal has the presidential comedy Have a Nice Day on tap. Williams is enjoying a full-blown blast from the past--in addition to experiencing re-Relief, he is prepping a sequel to the 1993 smash Mrs. Doubtfire.

mork & mindy must come back to telivision. one of the top shows like 3rd rock from the sun. great shows. please bring it back on telivision. thank you.

It really is interesting that an actor of Williams' class would still be tagged as "Mork" even though he later made some VERY memorable performances in films (and some complete duds). That's like Johnny Depp being remembered for 21 Jumpstreet.

I never heard of a making of a sequel to Mrs. Doubtfire. Will it be direct to DVD? Will it be kiddie? Will it suck?

"Mork and the gang...". That's one reason why Robin Williams spent time in rehab. Doesn't ANYONE realize he's more than just ONE CHARACTER??? I hope this edition of "Comic Relief" will allow him to prove, once and for all, how funny he REALLY is without being tagged as "Mork".
