Trivia

Goof: Some of the planes landing on the aircraft carrier have bombs. The squadron used all of their bombs during the run.

One aircraft had its bomb in its middle. The flight configuration was for two 500 lb bombs, which means putting them on the sides not in the middle. (edit)
Goof: While Gutterman and Boyington discuss the landing order, the scene changes from 5 widely spread out planes and at different altitudes to 5 planes in a line. There is no indication how they got together so quickly. This is another editing error example. (edit)
Goof: After the attack and before the carrier landing, you can see none of the planes have any bombs left.

Captain Gutterman says unless Boyington lands first he'll bomb their aircraft carrier. In fact, he is without any bombs at this point. (edit)
Goof: After leaving the island (on which they dead stick), they each have two 500 lb bombs. Yet, various shots before the attack show airplanes without the bombs. (edit)
Goof: The Universal Newsreel copyright at the episode's beginning is 1939 (MCMXXXIX). This date is incorrect based upon the time frame of the series. VMF-214 under Major Boyington started flying in 1943. (edit)
