Goof: During the 1st attack with the Japanese, Major Boyington's Plane is labeled "Major Boyington". After returning from the fuel tank test flight, the Plane says "Maj. Boyington" (edit)
Goof: During the first attack with the Japanese, just after the 1st Japanese plane is shot down, we see that Boyington's name is reversed for a second. (edit)
Goof: When the Duck takes off under fire, the close up shots show the canopy closed, while the long distance shots show the canopy open. (edit)
Goof: After testing the external fuel tank idea, Major Boyington begins to land (bringing his wheels down). We again see not the fuel tanks he took off with, but 500 lbs bombs used in the series (fins are visible for a moment). (edit)
Goof: After Major Boyington takes off with the external fuel tanks, there is a close up of him flying. Throughout this episode there have been fourteen Japanese flags on his plane (two rows of five and a third row of four flags). In this scene, there are two rows of three flags, instead of the two rows of five. He is miss eight Japanese flags in this close up. (edit)

"Exactly why I watch this series"
Baring the editing issues, this episode is a wonderful adventure with the Black Sheep Squadron and well worth watching.
