Travis lures Blake into a trap. Liberator, with its power failing, is surrounded by three pursuit ships. The plot of the episode bears a striking resemblance to the 1967 Star Trek episode Arena. In both cases, a space battle is interrupted by an omnipotent power, the captains are given primitive weapons and forced to fight hand-to-hand on the surface of a planet while the crew watch and the hero spares the villain at the end.

Travis: Tell me, what happens to a mutoid that's dismissed from service?"
Mutoid: We exist only to serve.
Travis: Oh? Then you'll probably cease to exist. (edit) Avon: Logic says we're dead!
Blake: Logic has never explained what dead means. (edit) Blake: Vila, try and stay alert.
Vila: Of course I will. How can you doubt me?
Blake: It isn't easy, but somehow I manage it. (edit) Blake: Another reason why I didn't kill Travis. I would have enjoyed it.
Sinofar: Perhaps there was nothing for you to learn. (edit) Blake: Right. Hang on everyone. This is going to be rough.
Vila: I don't mind rough. It's fatal I'm not too keen on. (edit)

Mistake: Travis claims the other pursuit ships have forced Liberator into "this galaxy". But he should say 'star system' or 'planetary system', as intergalactic travel is not possible in the series.
