BLAQUE
This US R&B trio gained inevitable comparisons to TLC. Blaque, whose name is an acronym for Believing in Life and Achieving a Quest for Unity in Everything, comprises Natina Reed (b. October 1979, New York, USA), Shamari Fears (b. 22 February 1980, Detroit, Michigan, USA) and Brandi Williams (b. 5 October 1982, Detroit, Michigan, USA). Reed first met Fears in Atlanta, Georgia, where they both went to the same high school. Fears went on to form the vocal group Intrigue. They gained a deal with Elektra Records but Fears left in order to try her luck with Reed in
More Blaque Ivory, later shortened to Blaque. It was while Reed was singing jingles as a sideline that she met Ronald Lopes, brother of Lisa from TLC. Reed, Fears and new member Williams, who had first met Fears at a local talent show while she was still a member of Intrigue, became the first act to sign to Lopes' Left Eye Productions company. A recording contract with Columbia Records followed shortly afterwards. The trio's debut self-titled album featured the production talents of R. Kelly and Trackmasterz, with stand-out tracks including the hit single "808" and a cover version of Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time". The quality of the material also went some way to silencing critics who saw the trio as no more than TLC copyists.
Are Now signed on Gold Mind/Elektra with new member Erica Pullins since Natina Decided to go into Ministry. She has been spotted with them performing in Europe.

Brandi
The adorable Brandi Williams was born in Detroit, on singing as a solo artist she called herself "Danielle Foushe". Danielle was her middle name and there was already a Brandy out and she didn't want to confuse anyone. At one of the talent shows that Brandi attended she met Shamari. They clicked right away and became good friends, always keeping in touch with eachother. It wasn't until another talent show that Shamari ask Brandi to Join her and Natina and form a new group. Brandi is the youngest member of Blaque, her voice is absolutely to die for. "I'm the calm cool one in the group," she says. "I've always loved music. I never said I wanted to be anything else. I always wanted to be a singer." She co-wrote Rainbow drive along with Natina and Shamari. Brandi sings back up and second verses, and she takes the lead on such tracks as Rainbow Drive, Bring it All to Me and Release Me.

Natina
Introducing the crazy side of Blaque, Miss Natina Reed. Born in New York on October 1979, she was raised by her mother Tamara. Natina was born to be a star. Currently, Natina lives in Atlanta with her son Tren. Natina had several goals that she wanted to pursue, I wanted to become Miss America, a veterinarian and a movie star," she says. She became a model at a young age and often played the drums at her Uncle's, Pastor Brown's, Church. As she got older, the talented rapper started to write rhymes and jingles that eventually led to her career. Consequently, Natina is in charge of all the rap installments of the group. When Natina turned 14 she became really good friends with Ronald Lopes, the brother of the late Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, of the Grammy winning trio TLC. Lisa and Natina had been friends but they never really discussed their music until Lisa heard Natina's jingle for Now and Then (candies) and gave Natina advice to pursue a career in the music industry. They became close friends and started realizing how alike they were. "She was the only person I ever knew that was like me and I really looked up to her," Natina said in the Farwell issue of Sister 2 Sister magazine to Lisa, who passed a way in a car accident in April of 2002. Lisa was also the godmother of Natina's son, Tren. Lisa sought out Natina's talent for writing and rapping and suggested that she go solo or help her get into a east coast rap group. Although Natina valued Lisa's help, that wasn't quite what she was looking for. Then to inspire Natina to go for it, Lisa suggested she find some people to form a group, and Lisa will help along the way. That's when Natina called Shamari, who she new from high school in Atlanta, Georgia and convinced her to leave the group that she was currently in, Intrigue, and join her group. Shamari brought along Brandi who she met at a talent show, and Blaque has been together ever since. Natina wrote and helped write a number of songs including, Rainbow Drive with Blaque, and Roll with me, I do, Leny, 808, Mind of a King, where she's the lead vocal and Stand by your side. Although devasted by her death, Natina has plans to keep Lisa alive by getting people to donate money that will go straight to building a school in Honduras, which is something that Lisa really wanted and also to help Lisa's clothing line called M.O.B. to come out.Now has left the Group to go into Ministry

Shamari
Introducing the sexy side of Blaque, Shamari Fears, the lead singer of the group has a very strong and positive attitude and a voice that you just can't get enough of. Shamari provides the stylings of soul that strengthen Blaque and give them their spunk. Shamari was brought up by her mother Dawn and her father Raymond Fears and was born on February 22, 1980 in Detroit. She also has a brother named Ray Ray. Shamari is into all kinds of music such as, gospel, alternative rock and of course the R & B pop-flavoured tunes she sings on Blaque's album. Shamari met Natina Reed in grade five and was extremely impressed with her outgoing personalty as soon as she walked into the oom. Shamari said, everybody was like oh that's Natina. Shes from New York. She models and Stuff.' And I was like, ooh I want to meet this Natina. The two became friends instantly and even though they got in trouble a lot during school and had to be put in two separate s it didn't stop them from becoming close friends. Shamari and Natina, with 2 other girls decided to form an urban country music group called Butz. But Natina didn't feel that the group was that strong and decided to leave the group. In addition, the remaining three changed their name to Intrigue. When performing at an Atlanta talent show, Shamari met Brandi, who was a solo artist at the time and they became good friends. Even though Intrigue had a demo deal with Elektra Records, the home of Missy Elliot and others, Shamari made the right decision to leave the group and join Natina who had asked to form a group with her. Natina's thought on Intrigue was that they wasn't going anywhere, so Shamari left. Shamari soon got in touch with Brandi and they formed Blaque, with the help of the amazing Lisa Left Eye Lopes. Lisa got them the audition with Sony and they were incredible. Shamari is an amazing person and absolutely adores her fans. We are a positive group. We believe in peace and love, she explains. Shamari always dreamed of having a music career and now that she has made it big, it shows that anyone that puts there mind to it can do anything.
