Jean complains that the family never spends Sundays together. Sid's plan for a nice Sunday out with the family goes astray when they get lost. The car has a flat tyre, there's no spare tyre so Sid has to go and find a garage. Only trouble is, the garageman is the one Sid almost ran off the road earlier!
After finding another garage and fixing the tyre another problem develops when Joey the family budgie escapes from his cage. While everyone is looking for him, a policeman comes along. When Sid tells him Joey is missing, the policeman calls in the dog squad to look for a boy named Joey.
Later Joey finds his own way back and the family have to leave in a hurry before the policeman comes back. When they finally arrive home,they are all annoyed at Sid because the car ran out of petrol and they had to push it. Jean tells Sid to have a lie in the next Sunday!
