Chic Young's popular comic strip came to network TV in 1957. Blondie starred Arthur Lake as Dagwood (the same role he made famous in the movies and on radio) and added Pamela Britton in the title role. The series lasted for only 26 episodes but was successful in exploring many of the same themes that were ever-present in the comics and movies.
