- Goof: When plotting the killings to make the pentagram, Henry starts off holding his red marker/pencil in his left hand and a picture of a pentagram in his right. Then the view switches to an over his left shoulder one and the picture is now in his left hand and he is writing with the red pencil in his right.
- Henry is not only a vampire but a graphic novel artist & writer.
- Coreen Fennel hires Vicki to solve her boyfriend's killer and then Vicki agrees to hire her as an assistant to keep Coreen from telling about Henry and for her knowledge of vampires.
- Henry was turned (into a vampire) by a female lover he met and begged her to make him a vampire so they could be together forever even though she warned him about sharing hunting grounds.
- Henry says he is almost 500 years old. Using the real Henry Fitzroy as a reference in the year 2007 Henry would be 488.

- Goof: After Mike enters Vicki's office and tells them he found out who was the rookie cop who ruined the evidence in the case, the scene switches to the police station, and it is day time. Yet, we just saw Henry in Vicki's office, wide awake. If it was day time, he should have been asleep.
- The tattoos on Vicki's wrists bind her to the demon Astaroth.
- In medieval legend, a succubus is refered to a female demon which comes to men, especially monks, in their dreams to seduce them and have sexual intercourse with them, drawing energy from the men to live, often until the point of exhaustion or death. This legend was an explanation for the phenomena of wet dreams and sleep paralysis.
- Anne Boleyn was the second wife to King Henry VIII. The king charged Anne with treason, after making up false evidence against her and executed Anne by beheading.
- A windigo is a malevolent cannibalistic spirit from Native American mythology into which humans could transform, or which could possess humans. The windigo myth was used to explain cannibalism in some cultures.
- Goof: When you see Henry go after Vicki, you can see that he no longer has the burn marks on his left shoulder. So how can he heal if he hasn't had any blood.
- The fictional device known as iluminación del sol is Spanish literally meaning "the illumination of the sun." It was created by a Daoist monk to steal immortality from vampires. Religiously, the highest ideal of a Daoist is to acquire immortality.
- Besides its fairy tale connotation, "happy endings" can also refer to a masseuse who finishes a client's session with oral sex or manual release.
- The Spanish Inquisition was established in 1478 by Catholic Monarchs Ferdinand and Isabella in response to Islamic Turk invasion. However, it was entirely controlled by the Spanish kings who used it to eliminate those who opposed them for political or religious reasons.
- In Henry's appartement is a painting hanging on the wall which shows Henry VIII (Henry's father).
- Author of the Books, Tanya Huff makes a appearance on the show. She was the hooker in the background, when Vicki and Mike were talking at the police station.
- In Greek Mythology, Medusa was one of three sisters known as the Gorgons. Medusa was the youngest and most beautiful of the three. After being raped by Posiedon in Athena’s temple, Athena punished her by turning Medusa hideous with hair of snakes and the ability to turn anyone into stone with a look. Medusa was the only one of the three sisters who was mortal; hence Perseus was able to kill her by cutting off her head while using her reflection in a mirrored shield as a guide.

- Anubis is the Egyptian God of the Dead. He serves as both a guide of the recently departed and a guardian of the dead, greeting the souls in the Underworld and protecting them on their journey.

- Necrodome literally means "house of the dead," which ironically is the name of a 2003 horror movie where the dead also walked.
- Goof: During the closing credits Brendan Meyer is miss credited as Dennis. In which you clearly hear his dad call him Travis.
- Swartalfen means Black Elves in Proto-Germanic. In Norse mythology, Swartalfen were believed to be evil spirits who would replace human children with their own children, called Alfenkinderen meaning "children of elves" or "changelings."
