Steve greets us outside, wearing a t-shirt and sport pants. He explains that he and our friends are having a "Backyard Ballgame Bonanza." We head on over where the first event, Roll-A-Rama, is just getting underway. The idea of the game is that Pail rolls a ball to Shovel and then Shovel rolls it back to her. The first part goes well enough, but when Shovel tries to roll it back to Pail, it ends up rolling back to him instead. We help out by giving some advice: since he's trying to roll it up a hill, he needs to roll it harder for it to make it to Pail. He tries again and this time it works. For our efforts, Steve calls us a coach, noting that we help out in that way. As the episode continues, we help out our friends by joining in and analyzing more ball games. We have fun with Steve's invisi-ball, an invisible ball that he tosses to us and we throw back. The next Bonanza event is the Bounce-Off and we join Periwinkle and Blue, learning that in the event, you drop a ball and see how many times it bounces. They're preapring for the event and want our help in knowing what type of ball to use. We have a choice of a hard ball, a rubber ball or a sock ball and decide on the rubber ball. All three are tested and it turns out that the rubber ball does bounce best because it's kind of springy. Next, we choose a surface for it to bounce on and find pavement to be the best, noting that both grass and a blanket are too soft. Lastly, we direct the two to drop the ball from up high, noting that it won't bounce as much if it's dropped from too far down. The Bounce-Off is finally held and the ball bounces an amazing ten times, thanks to our help. In the Blue Skidoo segment, we find ourselves inside a stadium. There, Steve meets up with Beach Ball, who wants him to navigate an obstacle course. It involves getting from a green flag to a red flag, but there are various ball challenges along the way. In the first one, we help Steve bounce a ball into a box by telling him to bounce it forward. Second, he has to roll a ball against a wall and get it to roll back. This is accomplished by rolling it really hard. In the final challenge, Steve rolls a ball into a hole after we advise him to roll it softly.

In this episode, Steve plays Blue's Clues to figure out what ball game Blue wants to play. The three clues in this episode are:

Clue 1: Rolling

Clue 2: Plastic Bottles

Clue 3: Fallen Down Plastic Bottles

Based on one or more of these clues, can you figure out what ball game Blue wants to play? The correct answer is:
Bowling

Epilogue: Now that we've figured out that Blue wants to bowl, it's time for the final event of Blue's Backyard Ballgame Bonanza. Blue picks up the ball, but isn't sure how to roll it in order to knock down all three bottles. We encourage her to roll i down the middle. She does, knocking over all the bottles and everyone cheers.
