Blue and all of her friends welcome us in to the house. They're preparing for a big music show and now they can really get ready. There's one character that's missing, though - Steve! We can hear him snoring; it seems that he's still in bed sleeping. As he mumbles in his sleep, we wake him up and he realizes that today's the big music show and he's overslept. Fortunately, he tells us that if we work fast and hard, we can still be ready in time for the big show, the "You Can Be Anything You Wanna Be" show. The characters do a big song and dance number about it. We see that our new neighbor, Periwinkle, is watching this from outside, but doesn't seem to understand the idea. He thinks that it's going to be a big magic show. Inside, Blue gives Steve a checklist of things that we need to do to get ready for the big show. Breakfast is the very first thing, so we and the characters have some, while Periwinkle goes off to practice his magic tricks. Steve crosses breakfast off of his list of things to do. The characters talk about what they're going to be doing in the show. Mailbox says he plans to sing about being a comedian. Blue and Tickety have been planning on doing a duet, but it seems that Tickety is losing her voice. Tickety can't sing, but decides that she can still be a part of the show by ringing her bells. This, however, leaves Blue without a singing partner, but Tickety thinks that as long as Blue doesn't give up, she can go on with a new singing partner. Blue agrees and comes to a decision on her new singing partner: we'll play Blue's Clues to figure out who it is. Steve adds it to the checklist. We learn that Side Table Drawer would like to be Blue's singing partner, but she's too shy to say anything about it. Still, she tries to tell Steve, but before she can get the words out, Steve is called to the kitchen by Mr. Salt, who needs some help. He returns, but Side Table Drawer is too shy to ask him about singing and so she just gives him his notebook. Steve tells us that he loves songs and he loves making up songs. In fact, he wants to make up a song to sing with us in the big music show, so he adds it to the to-do list. As he looks for a clue, he laments that just once he'd like to find a clue himself, since we always find the clues for him. Unfortunately, it won't be the first clue, we find that one before he can see it. He compliments our clue-finding skills, saying that he wishes he was as good at finding clues as we were. He then realizes that he doesn't have the clipboard with the checklist on it anymore and wonders where it is. As Steve looks around elsewhere, Perwinkle is working a magic trick and we see that he had the clipboard. He leaves it on a table and goes to look for Steve, who shows up and finds the clipboard. Then, Side Table Drawer tries to talk to Steve again, but Slippery calls him to help out with making hats. We're left alone with Side Table Drawer again and she vows that this time, she's really going to tell Steve that she wants to be in the show. The characters create their silly hats and sing about it. Steve heads over to Side Table Drawer and tells her that he has the perfect job for her: hold the hats! After all, she is a table, so she should be great at holding things. He puts them on top of her and calls her a "natural." That's all for Side Table Drawer for right now, as some of the other characters have gathered up a whole bunch of stuff and they're trying to figure out what to do with it. Blue has idea - they can put all of it together and make costumes for the show. That's another thing to check off the checklist. We learn that the stage is also ready, so that gets checked off also. The next thing up is snacks. Periwinkle shows up yet again, trying to get Steve to view his magic, but Mr. Salt needs Steve's help in the kitchen, so we're left again to watch Periwinkle while Steve takes care of that. We find the second clue and Steve's disappointed because he really wanted to find it himself. There's still one left, though, so he figures that maybe he'll find that one. Periwinkle, meanwhile, comments that he's sure Steve would like his tricks, if only he had a chance to show him. Steve checks "snacks" off the list and then notices that we still need to finish our song. So for the Blue Skidoo segment, we visit a page of music. There, we meet G-Clef, who's going to teach us some things about music and help us make a song. He tells us that we've started off with the notes, which is an excellent place to begin. We choose a set of notes Be (D), Bop (A-Flat) and ay (F.) G-Clef then tells us that the next step is rhythm, saying that every song has a rhythm to it, we just have to know how to use it. We then choose the tempo, which relates to how fast or slow a song is. Now that we've put in the basic elements, G-Clef has us add in the final part, "soul," or specifically lyrics for the song. We complete this and now there's only one thing left to do on the checklist and that's to find the last clue. As Steve searches around for it, Periwinkle complains that with Steve being so busy, he'll never get to see his magic tricks. Steve keeps looking for the clue, but is taking a really long time. He begins to think that he might never find it and the characters encourage him not to give up. With their encouragement, he finally finds it, his very first clue!

Epilogue: Now that we know that Side Table Drawer is Blue's choice for her singing partner, we wonder where she is and then remember that she was asked to collect everyone's tickets. We can't find her, though, so everybody splits up to look for her. Periwinkle shows up again, asking Steve if he'll watch his trick. Steve, instead, assingns Periwinkle and us to look for Side Table Drawer in the backyard. We find her. It turns out that she's hiding, sad because she believes she's not going to be in the big music show. Periwinkle covers her with a cloth and creates a trick: he's going to make her appear for everyone to see. We call everyone over and he does his trick. Steve tells her the good news: that she's going to be in the music show. Hearing this, Periwinkle finally gets the idea that the show is a music show and not a magic show. This, however, does not make him happy because singing isn't his strong suit, magic is. Fortunately, it turns out that there is a place for him in the show. The crowd has gathered and is ready to watch, but they're not ready to start the show. Periwinkle, however, is ready and eager to do his magic tricks, so he's sent out to keep the crowd entertained until everyone's ready. As everyone prepares backstage, the audience is delighted by his tricks, until finally everyone's ready to start the show and he performs his final trick: "Peri pocus, gotta go-cus." The characters come out to perform and slilps and falls just like he was worried about. We sing the "Don't Give Up" song for him to help him to keep on going. Mailbox joins in the show with a joke, getting stuck at first, but we help him to get unstuck. Steve and us then do our performance, overcoming our nervousness and finally everyone joins in for a reprise of the main number. The audience applauds and then the show is closed out with a group "So Long Song."
