Steve welcomes us in. He has a book that he's reading and asks what it's about. We look at the pictures and the title on the cover and tell him it's about planets. Steve brings us over to Blue. He's been helping her to organize her books in an are called the "Book Nook." It has all kinds of different categories for books, such as outer space, transportation and fairy tales. There are lots of books to read and Steve has one he wants to read too called Helen's Hiding Place, but he keeps getting interrupted before he can read it. For example, we have to help out Slippery Soap, who wants to find a book about the ocean. He's drawing a picture of the ocean and needs some inspiration on what to put in it. We look at the pictures in four different books and pick out book for him that has pictures of all sorts of neat ocean things, such as a whale and a submarine. Then we help out Tickety Tock by finding her a back with letters in it because she wants to practice the alphabet. Periwinkle comes inside, saying that he found a bird in his backyard, but he doesn't know what kind of bird it is. We decide that Periwinkle might be able to find the answer in a book and so this time we look at the titles of some books and direct him to one called A Guide to Backyard Birds. With the help of the book, he's able to determine that the bird is a sparrow. Steve finally gets a chance to read his book. It's about a monkey who tries to hide in a number of places, before finally finding the perfect spot in a group of other monkeys. The story includes an elephant that's looking for the monkey, which gets Steve to wondering about what elephants use their trunks for. Steve and Blue decide to go to the library to find a book about it. There, we and Marlee the librarian help Steve out by looking at signs to find just the right section where he can find a book about elephants. He finds the perfect book and Blue gets herself just the book that she wanted too.
