Steve invites us in. He's wearing mouse ears and saying "squeak squeak." It turns out that there is an explanation for this: there's a play being held out the Blue's Clues house and he's playing the mouse. Blue is playing a hippo, Tickety Tock is the storyteller, but they still need someone to play the cow, so we agree to it and practice making cow noises. The play is called "The Funny Farm" and it starts with the mouse doing a silly dance, which makes his friend, the cow, laugh. Then, a hippo moves into the farm. The cow and the mouse wave at her and say hello, but she turns her back on them. The mouse tries silly tricks to get her attention, but she charages at the mouse and it hides behind a barn. That's all there is to the play so far. We practice what we have some more and learn about feelings, stopping to think about how the characters feel after we act out a part of the play. Later on, we skiddoo into Blue's collage of the play and get try to get to the heart of the reason why the hippo is acting the way she is. It turns out that the hippo is just shy and also when she sees the mouse and the cow laughing at the mouse's silly antics, she thinks that they're laughing at her. The entire thing is a giant misunderstanding.
In this episode, Steve plays Blue's Clues to figure out how our play should end. The three clues in this episode are:
Clue 1: A Mouse
Clue 2: A Flower
Clue 3: A Happy Hippo
Based on one or more of these clues, can you figure out how our play should end? The correct answer is:
The Mouse Should Give the Hippo a Flower
