Steve welcomes us in. He shows off a drawing that of a bus that he made. He drew it himself and describes the shapes he used to make it. He and Blue have been busy drawing and he suggests that we go get something we can use to draw with. We then participate in a drawing exercise with Steve and Blue in which we start with a circle and then make it into anything we want. Blue draws her favorite beach ball, while Steve creates what he calls a "silly monster head." In this episode, we have all sorst of fun with drawing: drawing our own pictures, trying to guess what drawings are and even using them to tell a story. We come across Markie the Marker, who draws pictures on a easel using shapes and asks us to figure out which member of the Blue's Clues house that he's drawing. We first draw Mailbox, using nothing but a series of rectangles. Next, Shovel is created, out a square, a line and a triangle. Finally, we create a fairly neat picture of Blue using just a few shapes. Then, we hear some rustling and spot a Squirrel outside in the backyard. We draw along with Steve, choosing anything from the backyard that interests us to draw. Steve draws a bird in a nest and calls his creation "Birdie By My Window." Later, we skiddoo into a Chalk World, where Steve finds a piece of chalk and creates himself a silly hat, which he sings about. Then, Chalk Girl shows up and wants Steve's help with a story about him trying to find the third clue. So we use drawings to find out what happens in the story. Steve heads outside to look for the clue, but gets caught in the rain. He heads inside to escape the rain and then spots what he thinks is a clue, but it turns out it's just a spider.
