Joe's Surprise PartyEpisode Number: 101 Season Num: 5 First Aired: Monday August 5, 2002 Prod Code: 510 |
With Mailbox having distracted Joe to "help him" in the backyard, we learn that the Blue's Clues characters need our help in doing a surprise party for Joe. We help them out by keeping Joe distracted and assisting in the various preparations. We work hard, with Mr. Salt guiding us in getting things ready. With everything in place, it's a party to remember.

This is the first time that the other characters, instead of Steve or Joe, have played the game and talked directly to the audience. They all sing the various songs and also draw the clues, although they hold the notebook such that we can't see what's being drawn as they draw it. Side Table Drawer shows up throughout the episode to provide the notebook to the various characters who find the clues.
(edit)
Joe is wearing a blue shirt in this episode.
(edit)
Mailtime Segment: Joe gets the mail outside from Mailbox, since Mailbox is working hard to keep him outside, so that he doesn't see the party being set up inside. It's a special letter for his birthday. In it, kids all celebrate Joe's birthday by making him presents, a birthday cake and even a special birthday dance.
