Julie Costello (archive footage)(uncredited) on The Sopranos
Gender:
Female
Birthday:
1-29-1972
Birthplace:
Charleston, South Carolina, USA
AKA:
Bobbi Phillips, Bobbie Jo Phillips
Bobbie Phillips, a South Carolina native, has always craved adventure. As a teen, she thought nothing of catapulting from plane. She loved riding Harleys and the martial arts, but Ms. Phillips wasn't just audacious in her youth. . . .she was intelligent! With a 4.0 grade average while studying pre-law, Ms. Phillips signed up for an acting class to improve her courtroom appearance. Her life has never been the same.

She credits casting director Dorie Zuckerman with helping her land her first role on the sitcom "They Came From Outer Space." She later graced the screen in shows such as "Married With Children," "Blossom," and "Baywatch." She also starred in the UPN series "The Watcher" and in films such as "Hail Caesar," "Back in Action," and "Lionstrike." In 1993, Bobbie starred with Billy Blanks (Tae Bo) in the film "TC2000."

Then, Ms. Phillips made a daring and drastic move. Upon the advice of famed casting director Johanna Ray, she went from blonde to brunette. Ms. Phillips' career literally changed within weeks. As if by magic, Hollywood took notice and she started winning the roles she craved. As 'Julie Costello,' the murder victim's sister in Steven Bochos's critically acclaimed "Murder One," she finally achieved that big break.

In the past two years, Ms Phillips completed a horror film with Richard Greico titled "Samhain" as well as the story of a missionary doctor in "The Last Flight Out" with Jerry Jameson and Richard Tyson. She is also in the post-production stages of another film, "Road." She has written a feature film in which she will also appear. In addition, Ms. Phillips is pursuing a singing career while continuing to captivate us with her diverse acting roles on television and in film. No one will ever forget Bobbie Phillips as 'Bambi,' the woman we all loved to hate in "The X-Files" and as 'Lt. Barbara DeSantos,' a Navy fighter pilot, in the syndicated drama "The Cape;" but it was as 'Kam' in "Chameleon," the highly rated, unforgettable Paramount/UPN franchise, where Ms. Phillips was able to combine her martial arts background with her award winning and highly praised acting skills. Bobbie Phillips truly is a 'Chameleon' as every actor should be. She is able to believably re-make herself in every role she plays.

After filming "Last Flight Out" for World Wide Pictures in 2003, Ms. Phillips moved to an island with her husband . They designed and built a hotel that was named ONE OF THE BEST HOTELS IN THE WORLD for 2006 by Conde Naste magazine. She remains available for the right roles.

She has one son from a former marriage.
