  This series premiered the year I became eligible to vote, and ended the day after my birthday the next year; I still hadn't voted (there wouldn't be a national election for another year and a half) but was oh so hot to do so.   I was incredibly impressed that this series didn't skirt, but rather embraced, the topical issues of the day.  That's probably why it didn't last (especially not into an election year)... except in memory.  Surely West Wing owes a lot to "The Senator." less «
