Booth and Brennan examine disfigured remains that oddly relate to biblical text. They discover that the victim was a patient at a sanitarium, and have trouble sorting through the list of suspects they uncover.
In the 100th episode, Bones looks back at the first time Booth and Brennan worked on a case together. The formation and evolution of their relationship, as well as the relationships of the other Jeffersonian workers, is examined.
From executive producers Barry Josephson and Hart Hanson comes the darkly amusing drama Bones, inspired by real-life forensic anthropologist and novelist Kathy Reichs. Forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance Brennan, who works at the Jeffersonian Institution and writes novels as a sideline, has an… More uncanny ability to read clues left behind in a victim's bones. Consequently, law enforcement calls her in to assist with murder investigations when the remains are so badly decomposed, burned, or destroyed that the standard identification methods are useless. Brennan has been teamed with Special Agent Seeley Booth, a former Army sniper who mistrusts science and scientists when it comes to solving crimes. Brennan and Booth clash both professionally and personally, but the chemistry between them has grown since they first met and has made them a strong and trusting team. Brennan's equally brilliant colleagues (or "squints" as they're often called) at the Jeffersonian's Medico-Legal Lab include earthy and bawdy Angela Montenegro, who's created a unique way to render an original crime scene in a three-dimensional computer image; Dr. Jack Hodgins, who's an expert on insects, spores and minerals, but conspiracy is his hobby; and Brennan's boss Dr. Camille "Cam" Saroyan, who replaced Dr. Daniel Goodman after the first season. Zack Addy, a young prodigy whose genius IQ sometimes distances him from reality, was Brennan's former assistant, but at the end of season three he left the Jeffersonian. To aid Booth and Brennan in their persisting struggles, psychologist Dr. Lance Sweets signed on in season three as their therapist, and more recently has been hired to work in the lab to provide his unique input on cases.

Sad to say but is Bones really becoming 'old and mundane'? hide show
I love 'Bones' - Don't get me wrong. I love the fact that it's based on a true person (Kathy Reichs) and that she is an active participant in keeping the show + facts within the show real and 'dirty'.
But like all great shows, the storylines have become secondary to the character-based story lines. It's no longer 'Who killed that person', it's 'When will Booth and Brennan finally admit they love/want each other'?
Character-based shows only go so far as giving satisfactory comfort and relief to us viewers but the actual show becomes forgotten and suffers in ratings.
I do love the element of the altering interns though. I think this brings out the best in the main characters as they are ever-loyal to Zack. And I do hope Brennan realises that Sweets is a smart, endearing person and lets up on him because psychology, although considered a 'soft science' is still a science, and one that has helped them in many circumstances.
A good show that keeps getting better. hide show
Pat Charles writes really good scripts. The characters are written to be clever, thoughtful, and very entertaining. They get to go through a wide range of issues and emotions.
One reviewer thought Dr. Brennan should go. Hardly, she's a huge part of "Bones" (as in the title) and her character is extremely refreshing.
I suppose some people are threatened by anyone who has a very matter-of-fact approach to even sensitive issues. Brennan cuts right through all the nonsense which is wonderful.
Yes, the character can be a little insensitive at times but that makes sense for a very logical genius. A really nice addition to the story line is letting Brennan grow as a person as she learns to see issues from others' perspectives.
All the characters are great and the show has a wonderful cast. Some of the characters have been written out of the story who I wish hadn't been but the changes help keep the show fresh.
a good show going bad hide show
i agree with a lot of people here that this show was good. (note the emphasis on WAS GOOD!). when i started watching this show i could just sit down and relax and enjoy it. i don't even mind the commercials because i really did like it. then somehow it got to the point where everything just went bad. Now everytime i watch the show i just record it or watch it on tv.com ( Thank You TV.COM, you guys are awesome). everytime angela speaks i fast forward it or everytime they talk about their personal lives i put on an mp 3 player and listen to milli vanilli, now when the love angle between boothe and brennan is discussed i get so excited and get up the couch to slam my head to the wall. here are just some points that i hate about the show :: POINT 1: Angela - she has got to be the most annoying character on television. i mean being sexually active is a good thing but her sleeping with other men takes a good 15 mins of the show. jeez. POINT 2: Brennan - She has got to be the most stupid person out there. her good memory is probably what got her to be so smart, i do not get her being a genius on analysis because if she was good at it she would have notice how people around her feel. POINT 3: i think this show is running out of ideas on how to kill a man or woman. not to much interesting episodes on season 5 yet. president kennedy???? come on!!!!!! wow. POINT 4: Brennan assistants - need i say more??? they should have brought ZACK back he was the "KING OF THE LAB". POINT 5: boothe and brennan love angle. i think they should just stop it. Boothe needs a better woman. brennan is an insensitive, egocentric, and arrogant person. i think brennan should just die of old age single with that stupid stare of hers. some good aspects of the show that's why i still watch it though with lesser enthusiasm.Boreanaz is a good actor, his character on bones is actually pretty good, Sorayan is also a good boss, i like her, her being protective of her adopted daughter just shows her good character. and DR. Sweets man he is the best new character. to put in words sweets is just magnificent, well played and very amusing down to the facial expressions. dr hodgens an obedient rebel. he takes pride in his work and pursues what he think is rigth and he is funny too. in summary, i think because of all the channels that are available now, getting new ideas is far and few. Bones is a dying series that is destined to be canned the next season if new ideas are not found. do not hate me for being blunt. thanks for reading my review. i think i'll watch columbo reruns. bye.
This show has a fast plot , good jokes and it learns us every thursday a little more about the human bones. hide show
The show is about a forensic anthropologist , Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan (Emily Deschanel ) and a FBI Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz). The plot starts spinning fast and the first episodes are a hit. Brennan just comes from a trip after a heavy divorce. But when a body is found somewhere Booth asks for Brennan's help. You notice quite fast that the relationship between Brennan and Booth is not to well. their previously case was Booth: Field and Brennan:Lab.Brennan wants more , she wants to go in the field. After some arguments and blackmailing brennan gets what she wants: Field and lab combined. After some time they get to respect each other and a warm friendship and partnership comes .. and maybe more
Brennan needs to go!!! hide show
This has got to be the dumbest show. I could love the show if they got rid of Brennan. OMG, I hate her with a passion. They made her the dumbest genius I've ever seen on a show. I will only watch this if I have the flu and can't move off the couch. She is not interesting at all, and he assistant Zack can go as well. I love all the rest of them, and the cases themselves are wonderful, but Bones herself ruins them no matter what. I think Booth is just to freaking cute and he can do better dating a crazy woman.
