In TVGuide David Boreanaz was quoted saying that the character Tony Scallion was named after his father-in-law, who's an Italian cowboy in Utah. (edit) When the idea of Brennan and Booth investigating a murder in the world of underground boxing was created, the writers were not thrilled about it. But when they decided it would take place in Las Vegas and Brennan and Booth would go undercover to crack the case, they all jumped at the chance to write the story. (edit) International Air Dates:

Booth: I'm backing you up.
Brennan: You're judging.
Booth: I wasn't judging, I had your back.

Goof: Before Booth's fight the ringmaster is calling the last call for bets before the fighters enter the ring. Booth goes straight from Brennan's side into the ring to fight, which means that Brennan didn't have the time to place a bet on him, especially not after hearing the odds for the fight with the larger man. (edit) Booth is dressed very similarly to how Angel (also played by David Boreanaz) is in the Angel episode "Are You Now or Have You Ever Been" (2x02). (edit) The fact that Booth has a gambling problem is very similar to an episode of Angel entitled "The House Always Wins," (episode 4x03) where he can't stop playing the slots. (edit)

Booth: Instant Karma is gonna get you every time, isn't it?

This is an allusion to the lyrics of the song "Instant Karma," performed by John Lennon, which starts with the line: "Instant Karma's gonna get you." (edit) Booth: That's why I brought you to Sin City Bones.

This is an allusion to another nickname for Las Vegas, Nevada. It is known as such partly due to the popularity of legalized gambling, availability of alcoholic beverages at any time (as is true throughout Nevada), and various forms and degrees of adult entertainment. Another tagline has come from Sin City lore: "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas," alluding to the many indiscretions that occur there. (edit) Booth: This is America's Frying Pan.

This is an allusion to the heat of the desert around Las Vegas. In the summer, it reaches over one hundred degrees pretty much every day, and has since earned this nickname. (edit) Booth: No, Bones we are 15 miles off the strip.

"The Strip" is 4 mi (6.7 km) of Las Vegas Boulevard South partly in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States, that has been designated an All-American Road. Many of the largest hotel, casino and resort properties in the world are located on The Strip. Over the years, Las Vegas Boulevard South has been called Arrowhead Highway, "Salt Lake Highway", U.S. Highway 91, and "Los Angeles Highway". The Strip was reportedly named by police officer Guy McAfee, after his hometown's Sunset Strip, in Los Angeles. (edit) Dr. Brennan: So this is America's Playground?

"America's Playground" is a nickname for Las Vegas, in that it is like a big playground for adults - it has games, rides, casinos, and entertainment galore. (edit)
