Boyan was born in Paris, France, and immigrated with his family to Canada when he was two. He grew up in Vancouver in a masonry family and spent time on job-sites from a young age. He is probably best known for his recurring role as Sgt. Stackhouse in "Stargate Atlantis".

The planet Dagan may be home to a vitally important ZPM, capable of restoring Atlantis' shield and protecting the city from the Wraith, but a mysterious 'Brotherhood' on the planet - and their knowledge of the Genii - suggest that the planet may not be what it seems.
In his first appearance in Stargate Atlantis he is seen talking to a fellow soldier who bears the Serbian flag on his arm, and he is conversing with him in what appears to be fluent Serbian. This was never explored further in the series, but it could have been a nod to Boyan's Yugoslavian heritage.

The following Atlantis was already established and viewers were anticipating the release of the Pilot. Other shows I’ve done have had to take more time to build the viewer loyalty.
